And Dave all BS aside what MPH increase did you see on a Bass lower coated in this coating? Coating only no changes in set up etc. If I tell anyone what I saw on my boats they wont believe me. But I have some out there that no one is talking about for obvious reasons

Ive heard nothing but Horror stories about Bondo and water. It likes to swell and lift. All that Bondo would have to go away completely before I'd coat that lower. Or a clear understand UP FRONT!!! that if it starts to lift and separate don't come looking at me.

Bud What do you use as a filler...... I completely agree about the Bondo as I made that mistake yrs ago and yes it did lift off the LU even though it was a trailer rig. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us!!! Gary

I prefer a product called Splash Zone Epoxy. It was developed for the navy to do emergency underwater repairs. But any high grade Marine Epoxy will do. Like PC 11.

Good thing I let him practice on mine.
Seriously guys I have never done a mod on a boat that had more bang for the buck. Someone besides me and Bud needs to try this. Way better and more durable than wet sanded primer, once its on its there and stays with no touch up.

I have to pull mine down to metal and take out all the filler and replace it with something marine approved. When I did my nosecone I listened to a painter friend who said "Once the paint and clear is on there it'll be fine, this isn't the old body filler people talk about." Well I am starting to see some cracks and lifting where some body filler is. I see some bad weather projects coming in my future...

Slimm if you want Bud to coat it, PM him and find out what filler he wants. I know Bud hates to do coned cases cuz he does not know how well it has been done. Bud is a perfectionist and will do great work as long as the base is good. Even if you have a 70-80mph boat this coating will gain you speed. My 70mph BAJA saw a good 1.5 mph. Boats that run 100+ will see at least 2-3mph
