Mach CRT Wheel Pics / Reviews

So I think I want to buy a CRT wheel for Argo - anyone have any pictures? They told me at GT that you have to mount it in such a way that it keeps the body / or the actual shaft adapter from moving so the other portion spins with brushes.. Curious to see how someone has this mounted in place.

    Thanks

I have one on the BAJA with the stock wheel and love it. Will try to take a couple pics later tonite when I get home. Had the cheaper version first with the wires wound inside the hub and the wires would break. The one with the contacts has been flawless for 20yrs.

Yes and yes. I've got one in my Mirage on a SeaStar helm. I do love the wheel but it's damn expensive for what it is. Kinda miss the Mach CRT to be honest. Teague did a really nice job on mine, class A.

Ok here is the BAJA wanted to keep the stock wheel so just used the CRT hub. was used to the trim buttons but hated the coil cords dangling. Rt works trim L works the jack plate, same buttons on the Cougar but used a drilled bolt on the Ride Guide. With cable steering at speed the buttons are always at 10 and 2.

What do you do to secure the part where wire is attached from spinning with wheel.

They told me you need to secure the body to the dash

The CRT has a pin sticking out of the back so you drill a 1/4" hole in the plastic cover behind the wheel and stick the pin in it and it doesn't spin.

See Joe's picture above the 3 holes is where the pin goes you put in the one that works the best.

The part in my pic's that the CRT logo does not move its the inner part you can not see that moves. I think I might have the original installation instructions some place.

if you are going to use cable steering, Morse makes a helm that has the center drilled out to run the power trim wires through it then out to the sides of the wheel. i have one here if you need assistance. The CRT wheel might be a bit overkill if not using hydraulic steering.
