When I had my Vegas, I would always try to cruise around at 50+mph.....anything under that and the prop would slip enough that you would loose MPH, but the RPM would stay around the same. It was more efficient (GPM) running 60+ than it was running 30mph.

I like to cruise a little slower about 45-50. Then when those jet skis pull up next to me I have some fun with them

I tend to run at 35-3800 r's no matter what boat/motor or whatever speed that is. All my mercs just seem to be fairly efficient at or near this speed.. Every once in a while I will run a fast cruise at 4800 or so. I do very little wot time in any of my boats. The high level of concentration needed for hard running wears me out. I like to chill and enjoy the scenery a lil.

Ain't it great to have papa TRUMP back at the helm?

3500 rpm/ 35-40 mph most of the time, or whatever speed rides the smoothest with the given chop.. Typcally either a slow wave cutting cruise or full throttle which depending on setup can be much as 5-6 more mph without trouble \m/ \m/

85 is a nice cruising speed in my Spectre. Gotta get past the hop and free up the boat for a smooth ride.
