176 in Garths open cockpit 36 skater 1200 Brad Smith engines (big difference from 150 to 176-major)-don't care to go any faster in an open boat..

That's mad, really 176. I've seen them on the tube at that speed, four letter words and eyes straight ahead.

I couldn't believe how violent things felt above 170. He kept bumping the throttles and looking over asking if it felt alright and it was like any other boat that I have driven up to about 168 (at 140 its like 90 in my 24 skater or river rocket) when you get north of 170 every bump is tremendously magnified. He and Jim run that thing at 180 when its decent humidity-you more then likely won't come back if theres a mishap at that speed.

97 in mine a few years ago. 110 in a Mod VP with a drag scared the crap out of me being a passenger sitting behind the driver on a life jacket on the fuel cell not seeing what was going on!! The wind in my face made my eyes water with sunglasses and felt like i was blind folded! never again. haha

and the sound is like everything is coming apart I had to wear ear plugs if I did not have the headphones on because the blower belts and blowers wine will make you deaf when in back seat

My Eliminator 89.6. Scared myself with a blowout earlier, but this section of the river felt real nice and I didn't realize I had bumped it up that far then the prop blew out again. After I cleaned up, only way I knew I did 89.6 was memory on GPS.

    In a friend of a friend's 30 Motion twin 280's (I think) - 105 and felt incredibly solid.

That was a fun day Kev, glad you finally got a ride in the 30. As for speeds I've driven - I've used up all the digits on my 30's GPS and I've been around the 180 mark as a passenger in Howard's turbine Skaters. As soon as I get my hydro finished, I'm certain I'll run past the 160 mark pretty easily.
