Anyone running Eddie Marine foot throttle?

If so, how do you like it? Looks like a nice piece, but would like some feedback before shelling out $180 for a foot throttle.

I've got one in my Daytona (a Rex unit, looks pretty much the same)

I'd sell for a lot less. I'm replacing it with a Bob's with a slide plate.
I don't care for that bigfoot pedal, especially since I usually boat barefooted.

Where is the pivot point on that pedal. I have a hot foot now and don't like that it's straight up and down when at idle and pivots from the bottom.

What's better about the Bobs? Just personal preference?

The Bob's isn't as snazzy looking

But for me, it's more functional, much more compact too. The Rex pivots on the lower 1/3rd of the pedal, mounts on the stringer on top of the tunnel, (so it's already too high for my liking) and takes up a lot of room. The Bob's on the slide plate will take up less room, and be adjustable, and I want to mount it in the port sponson so I can get comfortable at WOT.

Hmmm, that's the pedal I have now, but yours looks like it's sloped back more. Mine is vertical at idle.

Can I buy just that slide bracket it's mounted on? That looks like a sweet piece.

Sure, we do the slide brackets separate

They allow you to adjust the pedal about 6" forward or back for more or less leg room. They run about $24 + shipping. You might be able to adjust that pedal to where it's more comfortable for you. Try backing off the stop screw on the foot throttle, and then adjust your barrel nut to move the pedal forward, just make sure you can still get closed and WOT. There may be some slight geometry differences between the T&H and the Bob's, but as far as I can tell, they are identical.

Thanks Rick, I want the slide plate. Shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] and we can figure it all out. I've just finished totally de-rigging the boat for glass work.

The Hot Foot is out (and for sale). I want to get the Eddie Marine one and matching dead pedals. I want the throttle on the slide bracket. It was set good for me, but everyone else that ever tried to drive it was cramped (I'm only 5'8").

    Thanks!

Keith, get a bobs, hydrodynamics, TandH, or the best an IN-Control.
Stay away from the rex stuff, you will have a lot more contol with the above mentioned, and make sure that you but a throttle that has a toe strap.

PS.......I doubt that bid hunk of billet will even fit under your deck.

Pretty sure I can make it fit RT. The incontrol looks nice. The Bob's and T-H Marine are basically the same - which is what I had and is coming out. I can't find the Hydrodynamics unit...anyone have a link?

What's wrong with the Eddie piece RT?

I run a Hot Foot, and its leaned back some, I also cut a piece of 1/2" firm, black foam rubber to put under my heel, (to keep from brusing my heel in rough water) works great!

Also got tired of seeing "Hot Foot" on the bottom of my foot when I got out of the boat, so I glued some black indoor/outdoor carpet onto the peddle (full length) and it is soooo much more comfortable!

Painted black, black carpet, and black rubber heel pad.....
    it looks good too!

The bottom Line is if you are replacing the foot throttle that you have ( which is not the best looking ) get in-control. The throttle you have now is WAY better than that rex peice. In-control is the best...........and they make a nice matching foot rest to boot.

    Try This

I have an InControl split for my twins. Don't know if the split is necessary, but I can actually turn the boat at speed with the throttles and it helps keep them balanced. InControl is very high quality (but pricey) and you won't regret buying one.
