    [QUOTE=Greg G;2662471].
    Yep.......updating "The List" with current GPS data on the Sutphen 21 SSX. I'm now wondering if my 88mph assumption with a 300XS and Sporty is possible when the Sutphen 21 is
    laying down 73.4mph with the Merc 225hp fishin motor in the real world. Can this Sutphen hull pick up 15 mph with the 3.2 stroker motor or will the left coast Nordic SR-21 move up to #4.

    Hey Greg. That 21 was set up with the engine bracket mounted low at the owners request, was never set up for speed. It will run 75 with a 5.7 IO. What will the Nordic run with a 5.7.</o

    Ahh, gotcha. I did not realize you knew the boat first hand but now I remember it was up in your neck of the woods. I know you have a lot of experience with the new Sutphens. I'm just wondering if +15mph is about right with a 300XS? I kinda think it is. Also, I believe the boat has a power jackplate with the top three water inlets plugged. The 300XS is a beast for sure as compared to a 225 Opti fishin motor. Below is what the current Sutphen owner got trying two different props.

    27 Fury - 73.4
    27 Mazco - 72.8

    Unless its a different owner now I think its still in FL. Got the info from Rich Sutphen & Morgan Haak who was his US distributor.

    You are correct, the Sutphen is currently in Fort Myers, Florida. Here is a picture of the back of it with the 225.

    I haven't read through the ENTIRE post but what about the Checkmate Pulsare 21'? Randy Wildman has built many that run in the 90's, with I believe a best of 98.2 with stock 300xs power.

    I know Rich lowered that bracket from its original spot at the owners request before his engine was installed. I think thats why you see the two bolts above it. I would have left it where Rich had it. But then again I would have had a 300X on it too.

    allstock - I think the thread was about SOBs that were like a class 7 style, that were worthy of some rough water running. I think otherwise Allison would be top of the list.

    Yes they are! Get out your checkbook and pick which one you like best. They all go well with a 300XS but no flat water allowed
