Ya got it! Bet it was the same back the 60's me, and to stupid to see it! But for less a dollar, get a "Cheery Coke", 25 cents, and a plate of "fries with gravy", 25 cents, and ya had 2 quarters off the buck? So if ya wasted a extra nickel for "6"? Lifes always some scam...but then if ya had 6 extra nickles? Almost a gallon gas for the hot rods to cruise the A+W "drive in"...

Jezz ya got a few me back years! Worked a kid at 14 a gas station ''and when that air hose out the drive in rang a cage in"..who remember's that sound"? Ding ding!...I was the Gas Jockey! Think then 32 cents, same a cig machine..pack of smokes that ya rolled up in yer T Shirt sleeve to "be cool?"...plus the "Bryell Cream greased "hairdo, and that "duck tail!" Days the 60's with Muscle cars, HD Panheads, and me at 14 years old? Got many rides the "cool kids" and talking big block Chevelles, 442's, GTO's, plus one I worked with had a PRISTINE 59/60/? Chevy rear end "finned" convert. White interior, white top, PERFECT midnite blue painted and he .."Blue Coral".wax DAILY! And when we closed the gas station down at 9pm? HA!
Top down on a hot summer night, and the radio full blast..(Wolfman Jack)..and he had one the first .."Reverbs"..in the ride. Then "hit the Drive ins and park it and pop the hood..(always backed in)...show the motor. Window rack coming soon, girls in skates.."what ya want?"

"Cheese burgers, fries, and a shake"... Soon some would say.."wanna race that thing?"

Here we go a back road and "drag race". Just to cool for my young butt to say not knowing me?

"this is FUN!" ...and hit later, and still at crazy 50 + years "still at it!"

That's a tool to show intelligence and awareness. A tool to show those who work hard for their money, know the value of money and those who don't. A tool to show who will always have and those that will not.

I remember 35 cent gas. I remember paying 75 cents for gas and everyone bitching when it reached a dollar.

Check out these charts on gas prices and the price adjusted for the value of the dollar. Kinda cool info

I did some searching but couldn't find any info or pix what the original cost were. Doubt same as the repo, but who knows. I know we weren't that dumb as cheap kids. But did find something interesting I remember but forgot. Our after school and late night hang out had 12 booths. Box always blasting..(usual "Pretty Women"!). Wonder how many wasted dough NOT knowing this?

Q: Can I get one of those miniature Jukeboxes like there used to be in Diners?

Yes but they are NOT jukeboxes. You can buy those "Miniature Jukeboxes" you remember from diner counters or booths for about $100-$300, they are called "Wallboxes" or "Remote Selectors". They are nothing more than a remote set of selection buttons and a coin mechanism that was connected to the Jukebox. They were advertised to provide a convenience to customers, which they did, but their primary purpose was provide extra income, by having several patrons pay for the same song. This worked since at any given time, many people were making selections, usually favoring top hits, as the jukebox would could only record a single selection for a given song, it only played once, but each patron figured it was his or her selection.
