Thread repair on Merc lower
Who is doing repair on the drive shaft spanner nut. I have a case that's way to nice to scrap over some bad threads.
If someone is already doing them, it will save me a lot of putzing around trying to figure out how to do it myself...oversize nut...welding...here I go...

Are the threads bad on the case or the nut?

The Aluminum Doctor does them he just did one for Dave Strong. I personally saw it because he shipped it to me after the repairs so I could coat it in Stainless Steel. Nice Work But he took forever. Mercury coats the threads in something to help prevent corrosion. He didn't recoat the threads. So while I had it I coated the Threads in a DFL (Dry Film Lubricant) like I use on Piston Skirts. Also PM or call CHAZ on here he has the capability to do them also.
Check your e-mail Ron I'll send you a picture.

Thanks Bud, the pics look great. Mine has stripped threads on the driveshaft nut, not the rear carrier nut.
Its just a spare case that I want to have ready to go in case any of us lose one. I have some time..The Reverend, (Cedar Machine Service on Facebook)
