2013 HydroStream Power Tour 5th Anniversary and Master Index Edition
Well Guys and Gals, The HydroStream Owner's Group has been doing this little thing called the "HydroStream Power Tour" for 5 years now. It has come a long way in the last five years. In an effort to keep it both interesting and informative, we have decided to try something new this year. The success of this thread will depend on those who are willing to participate and share information. None of us claim to be "experts," but rather, we are just a large group of novices that can share experiences and knowledge with others. With the vast internet and searching capabilities, the new guy can easily get lost in the sea of madness.
This new thread will not start with a video, or a bunch of pictures, but rather with volunteers reserving the first several posts in what we will call "indexes." Whatever direction this thread may take, or however long this thread will continue, users will be able to come back to the first page for information. The members creating these indexes will maintain and update them as time goes on. For example, If a guy wants information on a Vking YT, the person maintaning the index will have links to posts regarding the YT. Another index may contain links to good information on coring. Some of the indexing will be on this thread, while others will create links to other great threads of the past. Past threads that all of us learned from.
Not sure how this will play out as it will take some time to build, but when it is done, hopefully people will find it helpful and useful. As for the thread itself, during quiet time of the year (between power tours), discussions will be prompted about various HydroStream boat models. Our vision of the ongoing day to day posts in this thread is no different then in past years. Please feel free to post or share anything. It is exceptionally great when members share restoration experiences. Please don't be afraid to post, respond, or ask questions. Our focus is in preservation of what many of us consider the coolest boat of all time. In all the madness of today's world, let's keep this thing positive and informative.

As Mark posted above, keeping current and new Hydro Stream owners involved with the thread is a top priority. A few of us have come together with the idea of making the thread the most resourceful place for Hydro Stream interest on the net. Looking back on models, specs, history, events, and looking forward the future will be just a few of the things we hope to keep on these first posts. We don't claim to be experts, but a lot of our knowing is based off of tons of past research and in most cases, first hand experience. Thanks to everyone in the past for helping the Hydro Stream interest grow and helping new/up-comers find the information they are looking for. With intentions of finding some new owners/boats out there every new year, we hope the thread will bring owners alike to one place.
With that said, the thread will be an open forum for any Hydro Stream interest as it always has. However, these first few posts will continue to be updated with new information. So keep in mind when the thread get's bumped to the top, check back on these first few posts for updates and always feel free to post on them.

The next victim.. project code name Elvis. Full details as we go along
Foam/Composite Reconstruction, bagged of course
2013 115 HO E tec for power, 1 gauge! I can fill all those holes!
The deck is very thin and wavey, which has a certain "patina" about it, so it's going to stay that way.
I have exhausted my supply of windsheild frames and glass. So I need some help there.
The seat fabric while decent on the outside deteriorated from the inside out. There is an older gent up here who can recreate the material pattern for the coaming panels, gas tank area panel, and I have a nice bucket shell built so it will be in the spirit at least.Last edited by Capt.Insane-o; 01-02-2013 at 02:03 PM.

Billy brought this to my attention and I had to have it, a 80 bruiser vector, the first boat i ever loved way back in from my texas daze
this boat will be my race boat for blarneys next year and the ventura will take a season off
new stringers and core, center steer and cable steering are the plans
so far it is ground out and waiting to get into the garage
the original core was already replaced with some 1/2 cdx plywood in spots and old core in othersmade for easy removal
so with it supported I peeled away the layers
splashwell will be gone
the transom was hanging tough
all ground out and waiting for its turn
so in the mean time ill put this
in this old rat
be back soonLast edited by dnr78; 02-06-2013 at 10:32 PM. Reason: fix

Here is a link to my 1983 Vking Resto. Full core, transom, floor.
http://www.screamandfly.com/showthre...-transom-floor
I also would recommend any fiberglass/core/boat-building supplies to give Joe at Mertons Fiberglass a call. They are located out on the east coast and are great to work with. He is willing to take the time on the phone to make sure you get all the right materials and tools for the job you are doing. Tell him you are restoring a Hydrostream and he has helped us so many times he pretty much can fill your order out. If you have any questions on using any of his products, or what he recommends for using on a project, he is willing to take the time on the phone to get you through the work.
Any questions on anything I did during my build please feel free to PM myself or brian (hydrostreamvking4m) as he was on the phone for me for a lot of this build walking me through.Last edited by WIPolaris; 01-19-2013 at 12:08 PM.

I found and now own a moss boss vector to be shipped to my shop so I can remove the deck, install new transom, core, and make it be the best it can be to include infused core.
I am a business but through conversations with many members I assure my intension is the club and the betterment of the "tour". Everyone has input and it is valued. You never ever stop learning.
Venom budget rebuild thread: http://www.screamandfly.com/showthre...ion&highlight=
This is a sample of what is to come. I know that we have seen some great builds with infusion. I have been practicing with some small repairs and tooling for the mold for the seats.
this is not me but a small link using the exact materials we will use. 35% lighter and twice as strong. My concern is the seams at the core ends. The outer shell is so thin on stream we will need to install mat first due to minimum thickness requirements due to pressure and heat curing....

UPDATE:
With a long winter of delays and issue's along the way I can finally put in some information. Weather has held me back as well from making a trip or wanting anything to happen to this boat. Now I have contracted a www.screamandfly.com sponsor to bring her home to me. Frank be carefull buddy. I dont think I have ever even seen a "JADE" Moss Boss Vector besides this one.

I will start a Ventura Rebuild thread in the next couple days. The original thread was lost when things were switched by WebShots.
I doubt PHotobucket is going anywhere.
