My dad, who served in the Pacific, always says "it was cool that morning, there was a nip in the air." This morning was no different

Although I view you as a "Good Guy" on here....I fail to see your sense of humor on this ...Yea I suppose there was a "NIP" in the air....a BUNCH of them.....Killing our troops ...... Have you ever been on the Arizona Memorial ? I have...and it will run a chill down your spine.

Chris my dad, a WWII vet was a gunner on the USS Panamint and fought at Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal. He had dinner with Ernie Pyle in the Leather Shop aboard his ship the night before Pyle was killed on Okinawa Isl. If he wants to say this I think he earned the right with no disrespect. Read about the Panamint, he was at his gun when a zero missed his bow by 50 feet. It had to be horrible and thats how he deals with it.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Panamint_%28AGC-13%29

PS Though I gave him the movie Pearl Harbor he has never opened it or watched it on TV. I will delete the smiley face cause your right there was nothing funny about it.

Me and Chris are good if not great. I have the utmost respect for the men and women in uniform. Hell Im waiting for a National Guard unit stationed at our First Aid building to get here and pick up a TV I donated to them for a little more comfort. God Bless America and Bud you been on a Facebook rant for a while, I look forward to it every morning. Have a great Christmas.

LOLROF!!! Thats me!!! Can't help myself but to express how I feel. I had a treat this past Tuesday. Had the UPS Guy drop off a Box> he said whats so darn heavy in a Box that size. I said a 1000 Rds of Military Grade 7.62 ammo for my AK 47.

The look on his face was priceless.

Yea I guess I got my nose a little bent out of shape before I knew the entire story, Vnemous was kind enough to share his story, and to allow me to explain myself. Like a lot of us on here, the Military, and our History mean a great deal to me, I guess that combined with the current direction of this once great Nation has me a bit out od sorts.

Sorry for the drama on what was suppose to be a great reminder of history that occured on this very day.

88 year old Brother in law was B-24/5 pilot. His brother was there too and flew same. He was shot down and none survived. Going to Dinner next Tuesday with him and sis. He doesn't talk about it much. Not many good memories him.
