Yamaha Inshore Series lower units. Who has one or has seen one?

I am looking for info on the V4 inshore series lower units. Looks like the lower units takes 2-1/2" off your overall motor length and the bullet is pointy with low water pickups in the nose. This might be a great option for me.
I didnt even know these existed. Last winter I passed on cutting my midsection down since we could on get about 3" it just didnt seem worth the expense. That 3" combined with one of these would be killer though.

This is the parts page for the inshore lower:

i dont know whats the downside is to the parts list. obsolete sounds bad until you realize the fact that you just saved $5200.00

We sold a couple of them back when they first came out. The water pick up is still above the bullet. The ones we sold were on flats boats with tunnels. I never ran one on a performance set up.

I have a transom pickup so the location of the water intakes doesnt matter to me. I just like the fact that ist shorter.
Obsolete just means they dont build them anymore. Just like most of the good stuff!

Also, it doesnt have a crescent shape to the bullet, its straight up and down, not sure how that would affect things

The skeg looks much longer front to back which I like since I have nothing but skeg in the water at speed.

Thanks. Looks better now with black braided nylon hose and anodized fittings but she isnt as shiny with a few hundred miles behind her. Everything that comes down the tunnel hits it.
