K&K Outboard pictures
Went to K&K Outboard today....neat place with some interesting stuff! There were some mini speedboats (looked like a Mini Hawk) and some bigger speedboat molds and such. There was also this neat O/B powered blue boat, minus the engines.
ANyone know about the mini boats? I heard they used to race them back in the day? What about the blue boat?

crazy that you just posted this went to ace across the street today and on the way back drove down empire st. I saw that 30 velocity it looked like it had holes drilled in the bottom of the hull?
The 23 ghost molds and the ghost mini boats have been in those racks for at least 10 years.
A friend told me the minis are rotten and need new cores. Was still thinking about calling about them, would make a nice little project to get your hands wet on some glass work
Was over there this past summer, in the showroom they had rich t2x Switzer wingLast edited by berzerko; 01-15-2012 at 05:55 PM.

Interesting! Is that velocity for sale? Now that you mention it, those ghost molds/boats DID look pretty bad, but yeah, It would be cool to see them put to use again!

I don't know , about 10-15 years ago a , few years after ken sr. passed I tried to purchase one of those boats ken's son did not want to sell he said because of the paper work he'd rather scrap them at the oceanside dump . The boats and molds just sat and rotted all these years what a shame. I knew kenny when willie still worked for him also remember george linder testing his carlson twin 1100's with speedmasters . Alot of good memorys from the 60's and 70"s

It always amazes me when people go on a web forum to ask questions that can only be answered by the business they are inquiring about.

Sam, The blue boat is a 1986 30' Velocity "race deck" model outboard boat, built at Velocity Boats on Powerline Rd. in Pompano Beach, Fl. If the Velocity stripe & paint are original, which it looks to be, this is one of the very last boats built by Steve Stepp, just before selling to Regal Marine Industries, in Orlando. Regal wanted nothing to do with the race deck tooling & so never made that deck design, even though they now owned the mold(s) for it. They produced our "sedan" deck style only, on the later 30' Regal Velocity's. Hope this helps.

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

1980's Pompano Built 30' Velocity O/B
The model year is irrelevent, as that deck was only made from 1980 thru 1986, in Pompano Beach, and the boats were all built more or less the same. If you say the boats a project, maybe the paint design thats on that boat has been changed. If it is the original paint that it left the factory with, its an '86(ish). Like I said, its not important, if its a '80...or an '86.
