I have two 22 autos that I'm real happy with, a Walther P22 and a new Sig Mosquito 22 that I shoot the stinger ammo in in they are light weight and semi small to hide in a car. I also have a Glock 40 S&W , and an Astra 45 ..I just bought a new FN 5 7 28 but I haven't shot it year . Its a we bit pricey ($1000.00 ) as is the ammo....

I've got a Glock 23, mid size pistol, and one day at the range a deputy let me shoot his Glock 27, compact pistol, with a mag extension and it was an easy pistol to handle and shoot, JMO. Maybe go to a gun show and handle several pistol to see what fits ya. Then find a gun store that'll let you shoot the one/s you like.

Among my 40+ guns my Glock 22 is one of my favorites. Although my 22mag Derringer is maybe the ultimate carry, it's louder than the 20mm guns from the Tincan I was on, even if I missed the noise would scare them away.

My favorite carry gun is a S&W Model 36 Chief Special. I load it with CCI Lawman 125gr +p 38spl, they have non reloadable aluminum cases that help keep the weight down.
My second favorite carry gun is a Beretta Tomcat 32acp loaded with Winchester Silver Tips. I carry in a wallet holster for simple yet deep concealment. I can unload the entire magazine with the gun right in the holster.
The new S&W J frame revolver in 327 Federal is a very attractive package, near 357 mag power, more capacity, plus you can practice with the less powerful H&R 32 mag.
Buy the gun thats right for its intended use, full size auto or revolver for battle (business/home defense, security work, law enforcement). Target gun for target shooting. A small to medium size gun for concealment and daily carry.
Buy a gun too large or heavy for daily carry and you will find that you are carrying it less and less. A smaller less powerful gun you have with you every day is better than a big gun left at home.
If your looking for some serious firepower check out the new Kel-Tek 22 Winchester Magnum with 30+1 capacity.

No You wouldn't, a few rounds of .22 mag into the upper torso will give a bad guy a real bad day and very most likely it will be his last day... How quickly you can access the firearm and the shot placement of the first 2-3 bullets is the whole ball of wax IMO... A "homo" bullet through the heart, lungs, or brain is far more effective that a .45 acp through the lower gut or extremity... I'm great at given dumbass analogies, let me prove it... An experienced mechanic with a mediocre tool set can do more good than a dip**** novice can with a set of Snap-On tools... Give that experienced mechanic the snap-on stuff and he can do a whole lotta good... Give the dipsmack the mediocre tools and he's gonna screw something up... It's kinda like that... The more practiced and experienced you get, the less you'll need to yield a necessary result...

The XD's are a very nice feeling gun, much more of a natural point for my hand than say a glock which naturally slightly high for me... I think the XD's, 1911's, and Browning Hi-Powers all have a very similar if not the same grip/slide angle which is some of the best ever IMO... I like the XD's safety features being all internal and nothing to remember in an emergency, just grip-point and shoot...

I have a High Standard 22mag derringer and its one nasty mo fo. When we did handgun penitration on body armor the 22 mag almost always had better penitration than the other handgun rounds. I shot a car battery once with it and you couldnt find a piece of the battery bigger than a playing card.

I have a Taurus 24/7 45 ACP OSS, but if I was to buy another Springfeild XD-M 40 all the way. Just by looking at the case it comes in you know its quality and they didn't spare anything. Changable grips, mag holder, hoster, barrel lock. Its the only way period. A couple of my friends have them there awsome. What ever you buy at least look at this one. You won't be disapointed.
