Sounds good Jay, guess I missunderstood your comments or at least part of them, it came across to me as though you were defending something that the test proved different. As stated in the thread I meant no dissrespect, you've always answered any question on here quickly and accurately.....have helped a bunch of folks in which you gained nothing but being able to answer a question and help.

    Powerabout,
Dyno records every 100 rpm the results are average over the stated range except for peak torque. graphs were very close as the numbers would indicate.

Single stage works better in my opinion, remember we sent yellow sport reeds not race or drag reeds, which are cut differently and use different material, chris

Really a cool test with allot of info. The Boysen reeds Are .018 top and .020 bottom. If Al had lowered the high-speed jet one size you would have seen even more HP on the Boysen test. Just looking at the EGT's. (One Jet Size on an OMC is about 20-40 deg) Anyway cool test thanks for doing it.

One jet size will make more than 40 degrees on this engine. The piston tops were a nice brown with NO wet areas. Some engines like to run hotter than others this one is not one of them. The EGT was shown just to show all reeds were kept close to one another. Remember this was on straight race 110 when the engines compression would have been capable of running on a mix.

After some thought I came up with I don't run V-stacks really makes the tune up tuff. I also have never been in the same state with a dyno, just have the old fashioned race boat. Generaly race gas on my boat makes the changes in deg. vs jet size even smaller. I don't think 1070 is fat I always thought it kinda matters how the engine is loaded...I wasn't second guessing you just had a thought ...Lots of ways to skin a cat..
