PS..got some good, and bad news coming, Mary with cancer, and the old Nam Vet by me...I gotta get my head together a touch...more later. Bittersweet day..

Just need to let it out a touch, me. Been a VERY emotional day. Good first, terrible second..

Found out Mary went through 10 days hospital stay..(went in Jan 2nd).., MAJOR surgery in her chest, to get the latest cancer out. Basically everything her one side was removed, lung, had to move muscles around, too much for me too even say here. Shes still under 24/7 care, but at home. Be a good 2 months, a recoup. But she in good spirits, and thanks ALL, her "Angels", and any prayers. A SUPER old friend mine, and hope the daily that I talked to her helped, but I'm 2500 miles away, but gave her MANY "cyber hugs" too, thoughts, in emails. She will pull through...

Now, the bad. The old..(not really, only 66)...Nam Vet a few houses down, that I would go BS with, yak old Nam stuff, have a smoke, drink a beer, he would feed my mutt.."cookie"..(my dog LOVED him!). Well got a call at 4:30. Neighbor.."something going on at Margarites"..(his sister, who took care of him, and her 91 year old mother, and 2 years ago her hubby died, brain cancer..good kid..shes a REAL trooper)...said a Sheriff, EMT's, are there, and no one seems any rush..I think some has died.

So I run down there, and find out Dave died in his sleep, about 4:30, taking a nap. Dude was a grin, but was all beat up from Nam. Flew choppers in Nam, but was shot down, had a back fulla "schrap" ...never did walk well again. All his life was a weekly VA visits, and walked, not far, with a cane. Took him 20 minutes, just to walk to me, here in the shop, when I tossed a party. And that only 100 yards.

Anyway...I was down there a few nights back, and he seemed..well.. not himself. I WAS gonna go BS, last night, but it was a little late, so didn't. Would have been my last chance. And the doggy, is here in the shop, and I looked straight in her eyes, tears out mine, me down my knees, told her.. "Dave's not here anymore, he died. "...and I think she under stood, as she would always perk up, when .."lets go see Dave!"

But he and me still, had good laughs, over the stuff we pulled in Nam.

Now need to get some stuff done with his sister. Too much too think of just yet. I need to get a hold of I think.."Flags over America.org"..(friend, a Paramedic there, said he will have a military funeral, a flag over the coffin, and a soldier will play.."Taps".. )

Anyway, a good start, sad ending ..Monday...(thanks for the cyber shoulder).......Robby...heres a few pix, Dave, my dog, and his sister...

So sorry Robby about the loss of Dave. He will be in my prayers tonight. Wish you the best through this tough time.
