Sunapeeboater, I vacationed in Malata, Crete Island, Greece, where Joni spent vacations in the late 60s and early 70s, with the other hippies and she wrote some on her songs there, some of which were based on life in Matala. Donavon (Sp?) also was a partier there and sailed his sail boat around the Greek islands, no doubt it lead to his song Alantis, aka to many as the Greek Island of Santorini.

Had to post the "Rock"..first, before I go back to old BS, still stuck in the brain, 40 years later. Just sent this to a old HS bud...he's in West Virgina..still rides a "Busa" bike, and tops out close 190 mph.."worked over"

"Chic, caught a good show, military channel this morning..(I do most tube, early morning, until noon, in the rack, me and the fat dog.."shes lazier than ME!))...all about the old Nam gunships. Not the choppers, but converted DC-3's..(ch 147's).."Spooky"..Puff"..and then the C-130's. Ya believe, the C 130's are FIFTY YEARS OLD, AND STILL BUILDING! Freaking workhorse! And we built the wings, at Reynolds, for the replace..what the jet engine .."C-5"? I forgot

Dude a few down from me, I go BS with him weekly, or more. Drink beer,, BS, Talk Nam. He flew..(he's 66, all ****ed up, hard to walk, schrap in the back AA fire), shot down Nam..flew choppers, and C 130's..lives his sister, who takes care of him, as her 90 year old mother..she just lost her husband a few back, brain cancer..and she's a SWEETY...and man, can she COOK FOOD!

DAMN! Besides the 7.62 Mini guns, and 20 mill 5 barrels, which I knew about..there was later, which I didn't know...they also stuffed a 105 HOWITZER barrel out the side. DAMN! Good vids that puppy! They had what I think called "Blackhawk", intel....sucker could detect a freaking sparkplug firing, on a truck..running the "Ho Che Trail" ....then do the "pylon" turn, on the side, and blast the freak out'em. AT NIGHT!

Also brought up, think Nixon, but probably Johnson, that that was too much power, and they were told also..stop bombing N/Nam, and they outlawed the massive fire power..(I KNOW a fact...they outlawed Quad 50's, on gun trucks..about the time I left.."too destructive" Mini's fine, but no big bullets?)

Great show, what we CAN do...but that "Geneva Convention" stuff?

Seems now, any war we get in..like the ones now...ya almost have to "read the bastards rights first"..before ya stuff his ass fulla lead..

Dunno if ya what me dragging up Nam to ya again..as you had it worse than me, and 3 years earlier, ..many don't..many do....and let me know if so.

ME?..seems I've been a "little" pissed off..anything in life..ever since..and getting the feeling why...."any gang fight, ala "Westside Story thing"..well, the politicians came in, and said..."you have a 12 inch Switchblade..they only have 4 inch.."ya gotta cut off 8 inches..make it fair".

Nuff the Nam stuff, from me..still live with it daily, but..I can handle it.. lets do some "time of the "season stuff"? Kids, keep this thread alive..ya all have SOOOOOO..much to offer/bring up..stuff we forgot...And maybe a touch early...but wish you and yours, a "peaceful" Christmas, with friends and family...take care each other..the "world"..who cares?..it will take care of it just fine...and always remember..."every time a bell rings"..Its probably an "Angel"...OR..if a good fight?... "I rang HIS bell!" OR?..(sorry, this is needed!)..
