jay Smith and JSRE .... what to say ?
Are restoring an old Mercury T2.... this engine had some internal problems as it was missing all pistons and 2 rods ( + one rod with rust damage ) ...
Instead of trying to find some new T2 rods I decided to use some rods from the later model inline 6 engines....
Sent Jay 12 used rods hoping he could get a set of 6 good rods out of them.... short story.... ONE working day after receiving them and a couple of mails they were on their way back to me.
I now got 6 rods for the NEXT project too, OR I could save them as spares for the T2 as ALL 12 rods are within +/- 1/2 Gram...
Thanks jay

Glad to help Arne, it did turn out that all rods "cracked capped up" on the ID GREAT and were acceptable to move forward with them all ,they cleaned up and weight matched nicely !
Thanks for th kind words ,
Good luck with the engines..

I have to say at this point, I have never dealt with Jay Smith but hanging out here for three years I have never seen so many unsolicited compliments for an engine vendor. Never seen a bad comment. THATS IMPRESSIVE! Congrats Jay.
If I need anything for the V6 (looks like it ain't gonna sell anytime soon...)I know who I will call first.
BernieOK, I got down off the porch and ran with the big dogs....kinda sore now....think I'll just lay here in the flowerbed for a while...

Thanks Bernie,
Stick around , I'm human and make mistakes as all do. I try my level best to handle all "issues" thats possible to make right , most I can , very few I simpley can't thats just the pitfalls of dealing with the public in a High Performance venue.
I have a GREAT bunch of folks I do business with most are combacks or from word of mouth or off of several forums I participate on , I try to treat everyone as I would like to be treated ( fair and honest ) and its worked for me...99% of all the folks I have dealings with after the "business" is over I then consider them no longer customers but friends... I've always offered a standing invitation to all I build engines for to come in on assembley day and watch their engines being assembled and ran so they can see the inner mods before they are hidden when the motor is buttoned up. I have many that are interested and come in and some that don't but at JSRE there are NO SECRETS , after all its your hard earned money being spent you should be allowed to watch and ask questions through the complete process...
Thanks again,
JayJay @ JSRE

Well you are about to hear your first complaint about Jay Smith. Can you believe the nerve of him to not work on my motors just because of the color of my motors? Talk about being racist. Just kidding jay. You have helped me out on some issues even though I run them Evinrudes. You reputation speaks for itself. You can't please them all but you must very close to pleasing them all. If I ever fall and bump my head and buy a 2.5 Merc there is no doubt you would have my business.
