O.B.D.A. Race @ Lake Eufaula, Al.

I talked to Lee @ SeaTow on Lake Eufaula today he wanted to post that the permits have been acquired for the Lake Eufaula race, I beleve the dates are Aug. 22 & 23. There was a problem with one permit but that has been resolved, so----- looks like the race is on if they can get everything lined up.

Rich, Eufaula, Al. Is about 45 min. north of Dothan, Al. on U.S. 431, by water it is approx`15 mi north of Smith Bend, you will have to lock thru the dam north of Smith bend. The Chattahoochee River runs thru Lake Eufaula AKA Lake Walter F. George. Call me if you need more info. 334-791-4930 Jimmy

Thanks Jimmy , My dad lives up in Birmingham ,and has realy enjoyed coming to watch at Ft.Rucker . This would be a better event to spend some time with him and his family ,as I will not be runnig a boat there . I'll try and make it up for this .

I would like to encourage evryone to come and race if at all possible . This is a new ODBA race site and its shaping up pretty good right now. Lots of local ineterest and supportin this event . Lee and his crew along with Shane and his people have worked really hard at getting this going. Ya'll please come out and help make this a good one so we can keep going back in the future.

If ya dont race ,just come socialize and enjoy what I think is the All American Pastime

Where at Eufala is the race goin to be held? Ive seen Lake George beome a ocean when the wind gets up as with any big body of water.

seems like it will be held on the lower end at highland park above the dam. also looks like i will be the announcer for all the races.

should not be a factor.. talked to Lee yesterday, and he told me it would be held at Hardridge Creek, in where the camping area and boat ramp is, and that wind would not be a factor. They would be racing out toward the body of the lake.
As Johnny said, this will be a good event, and hope as many as can comes out and joins us for a good time....

Thats great to see boat racing get back to Eufaula. Who else remebers the old OPC (?) tunnel boat races there back in the day?

Is it an 800ft or 1/4 mile race. Been tring to find out if thier is a class for me. If so what kinfd of times are competable?
