    Allison SST cap removal question...

    If any body has ever messed with these does the livewell come off with the cap ? looks like it has been bonded to the floor in the storage compartment area... wonderin what to do... thanks in advance Billy.

    Just in case anyone wants 2 know, called Allison 2day they said cut it at the top around the cap...

    I posted the same question a few weeks ago without any responses.
    Where exactly did Allison say to cut it loose at ? on the top of the gunwales or the seam under the rub rail?

    they said as far as the livewell just cut it at the top as close as possible. where the cap meets the hull there are fiberglass strips that you have to cut loose on the sides and it should lift right off.

    Thanks Billy,,, hate to use you as a guinea pig,,,, but please take some shots of your progress,,,,, the lil' SST I found has some serious issues,,, so before diving into that project, I'd like to keep up with your venture.

    haven't touched it lately but thats all thats left to pull the cap will take pics then...

    Good deal..... what kinda power are you looking to rig yers with? I have a cherry 2.0 carb 150 that needs a home soon... that may be a handful.

    The lil' SST I found has a locker door missing, but other than that a a few misc drilled holes here and there,,, a real weak transom,,,no real bad cracks,,,should not be a too bad of project..

    What are you going to use for your transom replacement?

    I'm goin to put a 2.4l Xr2 150ish on it , as far as transom and gonna put composite new floor and maybe core depends on how bad it is when I get there..

    Ok cap is off did not come off they way Allison said, cut it loose at braces and it lifted right off.. definatly gonna have to recore will post pics soon...
