    Propsw

Well, I think around $800 for the pair. I am looking for a pair of 1.87, 20" Sports so a trade would be cool. Mabey a LH Cle, so I can get back on the water.

    skater update

well i just got done talking to the owner about this thing and i'm getting more and more confused.the boat is supposed to be the one that hledlin's son was running back in 89-91 time frame called stars and stripes?it has a pair of 2.0 power heads on 2.4 offshore mids with cle cases.he flipped it over himself 7 years ago while running with his friend who died in the accident.he repaired it himself saying only the cap was damaged.some other things he told me about the way he has this thing set up are kinda scaring me away from this deal.it also has a giant trailer-something like 40 feet long so there is no way this thing will fit in my driveway or garage.think i'm gonna pass on this one and see if i can find something else.anyone got a 22-24 tunnel for sale?thanks.

Did you talk to anybody at the factory on this boat?
What all else has he done with the setup of the boat? Especially the fishy stuff?
Did he show you the repair area?
The 2.0L thing is kinda weird?
Did he say if they blew it over, rolled it, or stuffed it?

    Any pics?

I know of another one for sale in Michigan, that I have seen in person.

Others I have found on the net-
    One in Texas.
    Two in Florida.

They are all ranging from $26K-$34K

Out of curiosity, what is his asking price?

Is the trailer a Skater trailer? Is it built for a larger boat? Does it support the boat from the tunnel?

    shady skater

hey lasermodvee-did not call douglas since this guy did the repairs himself.i swear he told me he had the repair done by skater when i saw him at the lake this year.i also swear he said the power heads were 2.4 bridgeports at that time.he just does not seem knowledgeable about boats in general: example:he did not know what a cle gearcase was,he claims he is running 9 lbs of fuel pressure to the carbs and they don't flood out,he just went out and spent $2200 for lab props, but he did not know the pitch, and other things like this.i would think that if he has had this boat for 7 years that he would know these things.after all he claims he did the re-ring and bearing job on the motors himself.i can't see the repaired spot because he had the boat shrink wrapped and he doesn't want to take it off till spring.he says his buddy was driving and he was throttling when they launched off a wave, the nose went down ,the right sponson stuffed, and the boat kinda barrel rolled.the trailer is a continental, looks to be custom made for racing with diamond plate almost 360 degrees around the trailer and some guards around the lower units and a spot for a tool box on the front.the 2.0 liters have me confused also.he is asking 25K for everything.i am so confused

I would keep looking, especially for that price.
With the lack of background and knowledge out of this clown, I would wait until he dropped the price to somewhere around $15000. Then I would get someone from the factory to look it over before I paid him THAT much!

Here's the one Banana Boat is talking about- NOT THE BOAT IN QUESTION ABOVE-

These guys had one for sale forever-http://www.lightningbaymarine.com/index.html

I think they were asking in the $30s for it.
I don't see it on their site anymore though.

    skater

hey lasermodvee-saw that one in fla for sale awhile ago, don't really want a saltwater beast if i can help it.first time i saw that mich one for sale, may have to look into that one.i'm going to go look this thing over tommorow and see just what is all there.every time i talk to this guy i come away more confused.i think i will just take pencil and paper with me and write everything down so i can check it all out.i like the idea of giving him 15K for it,if it's even worth that.i'm trying to find something in the 25K range cause that's all that's in the budget right now for a new toy.i liked the idea of the carbed motors just for the sake of less money to fix when they break.just have to keep looking i guess.

skaters are very good boats. I have a 25' motion and if you put enough motors on it it is really fast.

    Holy %&@$

Dude, the nice ones just seam to keep coming out of the woodwork. Nice ride. WHat are the details on a set up like that. I am running 280's and am pretty happy. I can only imagine with something like that. What year is your hull, it looks pretty new?

    Hey check88

Here's some pics from the Skater located in Michigan.

I saw the boat and met the owners in person this summer. Super nice folks. Nice equipment.
