Originally running a 2.0, unknown 2 pc adaptor. Block is an 88 but the whole motor is a mix of parts so assuming the adaptor plate could be also. That set up came to me running no poppet, and washers. Tell tale was never very strong but always there and stayed cool enough. Grenaded that motor and threw on a 2.4. Tried using plates that come with the 2.4 but the dowel pins were opposite (male to male) so I left the plates that the 2.0 ran on it on the mid and mounted the motor. Same weak stream so I took it out. Motor got hot quick no matter the rpm range. Tell tale was in and out all day but limped it back.

Water pump and housing are new and triple checked.

Hooked hose directly to water tube and water flows but weak stream.

Swapped the lower with known working one still no flow.

Swapped thermostats, washers, poppet, no poppet.

Check all hoses.

Im down to an installation error on adaptor plate or adaptor plate being incorrect.

Plate that came with 2.4 is marked 18260-C1. From what I can find thats possibly a 2.5 plate but not 100%

I'll be pulling power head tomorrow afternoon to check for errors and to try and identify the plate thats installed unless someone here has any dang clue what mess I have going on.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
