We have had a 15' hydrostream viper under construction for a few years and finally been out on it using a vance 3" backspace mechanical jackplate. We wanted to go with the Atlas hydraulic 4" backspace jack plate. The issue at hand is T-H marine is selling the 4" back space jack plate and we got delivered a 4-7/8" backspace plate!I notified T-H marine about this and they basically said they no longer sell the true 4" jackplate and is selling the 4-7/8" as a 4" Between the extra weight and distance I am hoping to find out if this will still work on this boat where we have a merc 2.4-200 on it. What is your feelings on this or should I switch to Bobs action series true 4" plate, which is 10 lbs lighter.
