Worked a Vintage and Historic OPC race in southern MD this past weekend. Took my 14yr old son who was not thrilled at the thought of hanging around a boat race all weekend. Put a boat hook in his hand and put him on the dock Sat morning and by Sat afternoon he had made friends with drivers and crew, getting compliments for his efforts. Told me we had to get him some water shoes Sat night so he could work the ramp Sunday. I did. By the end of the weekend he was offered a 14 Allison to fix up on the condition that he help me work on it and learn to run it.

There were several offspring of former and current drivers participating and some drivers new to OPC. This is a way to get into fast boats, some "competition", and comraderie at an affordable cost.
