    History of Kona boats

Anyone know the history of Kona Boat Co. I think the same guy who built sidewinder also made Kona's is that correct? Was his name Baker and did Kona turn into Baker Custom? Is any of this correct? Maybe you west coast guys will know. I had a 1976 17' Kona with a 1500xs on it and am kicking myself for ever getting rid of it. Traded it in on a ski nautique. Dumb. Should have kept both. Thanks guys.
