We used to drive an hour + past Tronto to go snowmobiling, I remember many of the side roads never got plowed. You have to own a snowmobile just to get home.
Night and day compared to South Fl. I'm looking at a property just above Niagara Falls, on the river, for a summer home, and a little winter wonderland, I want to snow ski again.

Growing up I always remember tour bus after tour bus filled with Asians on the Canadian side...
I didn't know they lived there, I see over 20% of Canadians are of Asian descent,
I always loved Canada, till my 18th birthday I spent every summer in the Crystal Beach area.

Yeah-lakes can turn into highways in Winter. One year I put more miles on my old Dodge Dakota than my snowmobile!

A couple of years ago, I had Jason and Johnny Saris (Team Saris Performance Marine in Bolton Landing, NY) re-rig my Progression 22 with a new 250R. The goal was to have the boat done in time so that I could bring it back home (Rochester, NY) and tuck it away before it snowed. As always, they delivered. The boat was ready for a test drive and pickup on Lake George the second week in December. Was it cold? In the picture below, my PFD is underneath my jacket and my full-face helmet is on the floor. The test drive lasted less than 10 minutes and Johnny and I were both pretty well frozen. Did I mention that absolutely nobody else was dumb enough to be out on the lake?
Here's a trick question: Why am I wearing my coat over my life vest? Because if you go in the water in this kind of weather, a heavy coat will drag you right to the bottom. Wearing it over the vest give you at least a chance of getting it off before you get dragged down.

Nothing wrong with that. I once went a mile + across the lake here in a tin boat in December @ 0 f. & the motor froze when I got to the other side!
