    Fastest single engine boats

Since the SOB thread has limitations to a race class and there has been talk of starting a new thread I will try taking the plunge and see if anyone bits. I would like to see a list of the fastest single engine pleasure boats.

    Tuff 24- 118 with DRB 300XS
    Tuff 28- 106 with 450R

Why have the "rough water" exclusion, you'll only end up with the same list in the SOB thread.

We shall take that out then. Send anything you want into it. Hell send air entrapment hulls in as well if we want. I would just like a list of pleasure boats that are single outboard powered. I am not in any position to be upgrading any time soon but when I do this would be a list that would help me figure out what boats to shop for.

Define pleasure, how many people and belongings are you bringing, are you running on the small lake, river or out in the ocean big lakes?
Cause towing a 28 footer with the family every weekend doesnt seem like too much pleasure to me, maybe you got a good slip or the assistance to launch

2+ plus people, with a stereo and a good wind fairing? Room for storage? Hell I keep a Porta Potty under the hatch for the ol lady in the Tuff hahaha.

I guess it is all subjective though. I would say keep it to currently available combos and not one off race boats???? The only reason for this new thread is kicking the king out because its 24'9" lol.

id say that’s a pretty good explanation because my 18 foot hydrostream is not comfortable for 3 or more people, not good in waves nor does it have good wind protection all of that can make a big difference in comfort...that’s why I picked up a 22 velocity outboard, should be good for 3-5 people with plenty of storage space up front, comfortable in the chop and hoping to get 65mph outta it...easy to trailer too

Nowhere near your 100 mph list but I’m not looking to take any on a trip that fast, I donT think they would get much pleasure outta that

My definition of a pleasure boat is pretty loose as it varies from person to person and body of water to body of water. But I always have considered it something that anyone can buy as Hellbents stated and not one off boats. If I were spending money on a new boat this week I would be shopping for a Tuff 24 or Chaudron 25 or something along those lines but there are many other options out there and I am only one person that is not actually shopping for a boat right now...

In Europe and maybe next year in the US they race offshore class C3 but I believer that's Cats only and have to have canopies for safety they race one motor up to 27 feet.

No GPS chit, not sure if they mix Vs and tunnels ? why not?

My 1986 21 Superboat went 88 mph with a stock 300x. I'm sure there was more in it but I repowered with a 300xs and I haven't got the handling good enough to get close to the old number.

Indeed he did, at Stockton Straight on the Savannah River .................running upstream! Michael lives two miles from me, and is a generous source of help to my son and me, with our two boats.

Michael was strictly a drag racer, but decided to try for top end. Wally told him he was crazy, that the STV was never designed to run anywhere near that fast. Oh well ...........
