I sold the red boat 67 about a month or so ago. Got it from Frank Erion it had been Gary Pugh's Frank set kilo record for sst 100 in it at 101 MPH. No motor when I got it. The mid's were Gutted V8, lower was all its owe smaller than V8 as were cowl and pans. Powerhead stock 140 looper. Seaway had some cowls at one time.
    Enjoy Your Project.

I just sent these two cowls to Seaway. The Johnson cowl is brand new. The Evinrude was Jon Guimonds on the Dominator boat. They can get you all the parts you need.

Stock PH will do everything I need to do. Dependability will be key.

I was pretty sure SST 100’s were Stock powerheads.

That proves to me that you are correct.
They made a V-4 looper up to 140 HP, so as I told you on the phone, where a 90 HP p.head will fit, so will a 140.

So start w/a 90 and see what you and the boat think of it knowing that more is easy to come by if either one of you want it

As light as that hull is....., a 90 night scare the pee out of both of us 😂

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

You betcha ! Great project, keep us updated. I have always loved those little race motors, unfortunately they are non-existent up here in Canada. The 90 degree V4 looper was one of the most reliable OMC engines and lots of parts are available. Good luck and keep us up to speed !
