16' Yes the 2.4 will be temporary if at all on the boat. Really looking for a 150xs or the likes. Actually any 15" inline would be fine for what i want to do.
I just dont know anything about the V4 Evinrude or johnson stuff.

A 80 's "bubble back" 140 rude would push it into the 90 mph range with a cleaver. Those were strong V-4's.

The V-4s are very basic motors.
And cheap.

You could do a 120 looper on a shorty mid, fish case w/a cone that would scare the pee out of you.

A 135 cross flow would do the same and be more period correct but honestly, no ones going to be able to tell the difference between the two.

The looper would be easier to get parts for and easily become 150hp + and make a 100 mph rocket.

Having a shiftable case on a toy like that would be a huge benefit too.
Even if your used to a direct drive motor, if your by yourself, especially in a boat like that, it can be a handful.

A shorty V-4 will be hard to find but can also be made.
You need a friend that is a good machinist, welder and fabricator that will work for beer.

There a few around.
Was one just for sale on here.
In Wisconsin maybe???

Wasnt cheap but was well done.

The fish versions are cheap and plentiful.
Cool thing is, you could find/build and 85 cross flow or 90 looper then switch to a 135/140 powerhead later.

Get ahold of Chris Lake (Laker on here) and tell him I sent you.
He is the all knowing on V-4s and may have some spares to sell you.

Regardless of what path you choose, you will end up w/an off the hook show piece that will be an absolute blast to drive and show.

Nothing i cannot make. So no issue there. Shop full of all new CNC machines.
Remember the 3.2 liter to 2.5 liter stuff that Scott P. designed.? I did all the
machine work on that project. My Action i just rigged I made the fuel fills and thru hulls all out of
6AL4V Ti just because its fun.
Im looking forward to this project and I will for sure make it a show piece with the rigging.

november is more in line for me, 6500.00 in the pete since november 2020 has taken my fun money, workin my ass off lately and think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel ,,, sure hope it's not a train , if your going to make March , you got your work cut out for you.
