I hate to say it but I think the Harris chain will be a let down for a lot of people that come from far away. There is not a long river ride like the Suwannee and other places we go. It’s a nice place and many restaurants but not a lot to see or great gathering places from what I have seen. It definetly a nice place to go but if I drove from 5-10hrs away I think I would be disappointed. Only other place I could recommend that I know of would be the south part of the St. John’s . Tons of riding and nice beach spots....also some of the best Florida river riding you can do. Maybe there are some other waterways? I plan to go no matter where it ends up just want people to be happy with the location and the Suwannee run is a hard one to compete with.

Tough one but I think those traveling will be hitting more than one spot in the state . I'm not making the call but will go with the flow .

I've been looking at waterfront property on the St Johns River, any suggestions, why is one place better than another?

Naples is getting too crowded in season, for my type of boating the river sounds best?

Thanks for the input, now back to the Foley get together

I think the northern contingency is going to do with the Saint John's/ Silver Glen on Thursday afternoon and Friday and then head to the Harris chain for Saturday and Sunday. Any thoughts on this?

Sounds like sat/sun everyone is going to Sanford area instead of Harris? That works too.

My wife and I made the run from Palatka to Silver Glenn today and it was fantastic. We did the 40+ miles [each way] in 35 minutes [one way] and only burned 14 gallons of fuel [round trip]. I sure wish the Suwannee was available.
