BTW I'm lucky I'm here after the last storm when a 12,800 V line fell on my truck while I was plowing! Jumped out the passenger door while the truck was in low range and it ripped the cable out of the transformer. All the snow in front of the blade stopped her before it took out a car. The next time I hear trees crackin and branches breakin I'm NOT plowing ....period!

It looked good, like those. The cap come off those years? I love my 78 Heavy K20 Suburban, oiled every year, all steel no rust. Enough oil to make an Arab envious. Spray everything but the glass , come spring soap it up and it's all bright .Mine gets driven, not ruined. Been through the deepest and never hung up.

What do you use for oil? WD-40?
How do you apply it? Pump up sprayer with large tip?
I like the sound of that process. All the salt laid out here when it snows should be enough for me to catch Mahi-Mahi, Grouper and Snapper here in our lakes from the run off, and you guys get tons more snow than us.James H. W2F a V-King... Want 2 Fly a V-King

Up here in the salty North we have businesses that apply rust proofing. I have used nothing but Krown rust proofing for decades. It's specific for the prevention of rust. Protects plastics, rubber, the whole truck gets it once and sometimes twice a year. It seeps and creeps into all the little hidden blind spots. We drill the a ,b pillers high and apply inside then plug. Also inner fenders , bedside behind lights, complete underside , inside frame rails , drill back side of rockers and then plug. Inside doors from upper frame down, jambs, hinges , mirror frame, mounts , under hood all seams, roof , the rack , behind grill, light pockets, rad support in and out. All chrome, front and back of bumpers which we paint with two part when new. The whole truck!
Every vehicle that I have and is driven in winter gets this.
I've seen 5yearold Duramax, Rams, Fords, with rotten cab corners and beds. Up here the roads are harsh , covered white with rock salt and salt brine from late October till mid April. Nothing lasts, not even a Toyota lolLast edited by FMP; 03-13-2018 at 04:49 PM.

progress
Thanks to Ken my mod V6 crossflow is back and ready to rock. Just need to install an electric pump in the boat (again, thanks KEN!) and put the powerhead on and go rip.
Super excited for this darn winter to be over. Anyway, Ken also polished up some props for me, I think at least 100.00 added to the value of the prop Ken! My 28 true Hoss all shined up, you can even see Ken in the reflection.
