Just Go away Dave you talk a big game but until you see someone crash or yourself crash you will then realize how important a simple thing a life jacket can be i have known Chummy for a long time and if he sets up a river run and wants people to wear a jacket then do it out of respect if not stay home

When you have to hold on to a dead body for 20 minutes and watch others dive for the rest while waiting for the authorities to arrive you'll think differently
When you use your lifeline a couple times for it intended application you'll think differently
When you have to assist with cpr because someone didn't wear a life vest you'll think differently
When you watch someone die because they were a bad ass you'll think differently.
When you have some respect for your fellow boaters/friends and family you'll think differently.....
Or you could just be a fu*king moron.

Just curious what all this THREAT will entail to those (THAT ARE FOOL ENOUGH) up at the rally that might ASK you (NOT TELL as you put it) to leave? Sounds like your defiance on this vest sh*t is whats gone far enough. What exactly are you going to do about it? I'm sure Chummy and the gang would love to know more of your threat to them.
You act like it actually effects your life in some huge negative way that they want to have people wear safety gear. I doubt seriously that you ever even planned to go so why the captain crabby pants attitude?
I also dont understand why you as a Law Enforcement Officer are being so confrontational over this. I thought you were to be a peace keeper not an antagonizer. These people are just trying to keep people safe and have fun not incite reckless behavior and god forbid have to bury more of their friends.
I mean police officers wear Kevlar vest to protect them while doing a very dangerous job right. I would like to think that all LEO's wear them by will, desire and common sense not just because the sarg tells them its in the rules. Just like boat racers that wear them. Will, desire and common sense. There's not one single boat racer I've ever known that wouldn't wear the proper safety gear in a race if it wasn't mandated in the rule books. They would wear them anyway.
Its been said many times. " there's those who have watched their friends dies in high speed boating accidents and there's those who haven't". You obviously have not lost a good friend in a high speed boating accident.
This is not meant as a dig. I respect and applaud you for risking your life daily as a L.E.O. I just wish I could understand your irrationality over safety gear and dangerous hi speed boating. Or is it just that you didn't like being told what to do? I would ask you to understand the difference in somebody asking you something and somebody demanding you do something.Rob Lankford

I was going to stay out of this but I don't care if any of you wear a vest or not but when it is at a place we all decide to gather and have fun with something we all love and someone dies unnecessarily because they were not wearing one we all may possibly lose a location to meet up and this hurts all of us, eventually we will have speed limits and be forced off of the rivers and lakes we like to meet up at, so why is it so hard to understand if someone is putting a gathering spot on the boards and they ask you to please wear some safety equipment at this spot you can't have the common courtesy to do so or just not attend. It is just that simple wear a vest or don't attend if the person posting ask you to do this. If you want to post a gathering spot and have it a no vest required event do it, nothing is stopping you. Well I said my .02 carry on.

I thought cops were supposed to encourage safety
