We haven't been going far but we have been using the boat. We keep talking about moving to a 27 or a 29, it would be awesome to hang a couple of 400R's or a Seven Marine or two on a larger hull.

I haven't used it this year...I just put a transom in it....Motor bolts were leaking and the balsa got wet around a few of the bolt holes so I pulled it apart and had it redone...didn't wanna chance having an issue.......haven't had the time to mess with it lately....If I don't wind up selling it I will put it back together in the fall/winter for next season....a progression regatta would be siicckk though....

I tired to buy it from him, hull and trailer because he popped the 300x, but he owed too much on his note to separate, and then there was that question of the cut stringer

I remember wanting to check it our before he bought it, when it was still in California

A lot of people tried to buy it even at asking price.He had hidden in barn in northern Michigan.Im not sure how the bank ever got ahold of it,I was told the interior was stripped as well the motor was parted out after it blew.Everyone that contacted him about it was given a different story.Nice looking boat but damn there was something shady going on.

A classified ad on another site had it listed as low as $20k in winter 2010 (the ad was updated to "SOLD" in September 2014.)
Had I known about it back then, I would have made a run at it. Might have been a Progression owner years earlier.

On a slightly different but related note- how the heck do guys get 80s out of these 24s?

Mine is a 24XL (pre-vacuum bagged) with a 275 3.4L, I'm running a 23 Tempest to just over 5300 and getting a best of 64mph on cool fall days, 5000rpm and 60mph loaded down in the summer.

your boat wont go 80 unless you strap twins on it....its just too damn heavy for a single....that said a single 350 or 400 would be a good match and probably get you low 70s

Ghost 28 is right. I own a 24 Hi deck with a 225 Optimax. Top speed is high 50's.
