Looks like there’s been a bad accident at Jacksonville in the P1/s.
Tell you when I know more for certain.
Here is some new footage. One killed and three injured.

Talked with Mark——- I have a lot clearer idea of what went on in Jacksonville——- butunable to comment at this time.
None of the boats have been impounded, and it’s been called “a racing accident” ——
Will leave a much depleted field for the next P1 race.
There is some helicopter footage which Mark wants to see before making any comments.
Man who caused it was a rookie and paid the ultimate price. But that’s an interim judgement based on what footage there is available.
Niether boat was badly damaged—— co- pilot has a badly lacerated arm but if the hull had not been Carbon it could have been so much worse.
Afraid there will be calls for full safety canopy in the P1 class before long Pilgrim.
single engine vee bottom in the rough, hardest boat to drive by far and at 70mph not a place for a rookie
First time I happened to see P1 racing on TV, I couldn't believe these individuals were racing "offshore" sized hulls using "pleasure boat - poker run" seats again. 70 mph or 170 mph, doesn't matter...something will happen eventually and it did. I was also startled to see these guys were racing close enough to trade paint in the turn pins. The accident made its way on to national TV news this weekend.
I have blown the footage up and slowed it down and it appears that the outside boat made a hard left hand turn into the path of the inside boat. I can't believe that it was intentional which makes me think of mechanical failure. If there is aerial footage, it would answer all or most of the questions.
