More this afternoon——- I found a stack of Havasu piccies, along with the first Torrigia ever to be brought to England!
plus the three seater Paris boat Mark and I drove to a win before it’s conversion for CONDORMAN !!!
Working for the “Mouse” was great fun—- and lucrative!

So, you wanna know what a .”COWBELL” looks like—— there’s one right there—- Don Ross and I raced that rig to a string of victories all over Europe including the “Chasewater 500”. Don flipped it in Amsterdam. He was two laps clear of the rest at the time. He never raced again!

That’s me and “PRUETT” Gold lab—— never was chopped, and would screw anything on legs.
Lived the good life for fifteen years —- died humping an Afghan—— owner tried to sue me but failed—— he was a true Pruett!

Cowbell Twister—— always made me deaf for a week after the race !
Very disappointing that nobody mentioned the fact that the previous piccie was not a cowbell—- it was “Kubes” working on the “ SILO” !
This is the best picture to date of the elusive "Cowbell Twister." I think they not only named it "Cowbell' due to its shape, but also because your ears would be ringing for days afterwards....

Hell, Jackie, the first thing I did when I saw your post was to enlarge the picture like the one above. Clearly there was no Cowbell there. Being the kind hearted soul that I am, I said to myself "If Jackie believes there is a cowbell there, then let him go on believing. After all...discretion is the better part of valor...
There will be a whole chapter devoted to my trips to Canada—- first is when Chas and me took the COSWORTH Two litre to Valleyfield in ‘76. Second part will be the trip on the Rocky Mountain railway from Banf to Vancouver. If you ever catch up with Jim Thompson, he can tell you of the hilarious times we had with the folk in Valleyfield!

Just showing you how we set the Hodges tunnel up to Carry three people and all the rocket launchers and machine gun turret. Rolla made the prop. It would launch itself up on plane, Max at 75– and still handle like a race boat. Took a while to figure it all out and put it together, but Mark- Me -and Hodges got it hauling mail.
After my first time changing Silo gaskets — scraping them off the metal, I never wanted to see another one again.
And all those bolts/studs for an exhaust system.
There is no infatuation on my part, for those engines.

...This really is a great photo...:thumbsup:https://www.screamandfly.com/attachm...4&d=1588783180
I've never seen the "cowbell" before. I had some naïve assumption it was the downwards taper in the BP mid section. What was the logic in bolting them to the base of the exhaust log? Did they work better than stacks? Or just make the drivers deaf (LOL)? The cowbell actually looks like the ancient ancestor to the SST140 tuner?

Another couple of pics of the CONDORMAN boat—— taken during the escape from Monte Carlo harbours shoot! Four foot rollers were coming into the harbour, but the scene had to be shot that day—- the Baron Von Thyssen yacht was ncosting £3,000 per day and the film was already a million over budget . Crew didn’t seem to care—— The Mouse had plenty of money!

Still think the whole sequence was one of the best boat chases ever—— better than any of the Bond movies. the six all black “BRODNOVITCH” ] squirts —— the three seater Hodges, and the 40’ Abbatte !
Only boat not totally destroyed was the Hodges!
Remy Julians team managed to total six 911 S Porch’s .
Also one ROLLS ROYCE limousine ! I did manage to rescue the FLYING LADY Radiator emblem! ,
Look at the size of that SSM!!
Standard issue with that Twister--available with two different gear ratios-------LH or RH
Used on some of the Offshore Boats (not legal)--

Pruett bought me that hat for my 40th birthday——- I would walk two metres behind him through the pits—- told everyone he was my dad.

...Pruett actually took Billy Jacks hat right off his head & gave to you...no one else could have done that...from one Jack to another...amazing...;)...https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/c...billy-jack.jpg
Lol Fujimo, you actually barely beat me to posting a pic of Tom Laughlin.
...saw the movie as soon as it came out in 1971 with my best friend. he died a few years later in a car accident. memories.
