Did that boat start out as the one Ronnie ran in H class? When I first met Ronnie he was running an Allison with an 800DR with a Sportmaster lower unit in H class.UOTE=GENE LANHAM;2857220]That is a 14'Allison---got it from Brooke. Mike and I cut it down--light plywood deck, put my 500 on it--presto--a cut-down, kneel-down Allison; Herbie still beat me--
Sunday already------so what ? -----no different to any other day really, will be in the shop by 8:30 beavering away at six all metal outboards.
Same as yesterday--------start the gear cases today------it's a bit like toothache and a visit to the dentist--------put it off as long as you can.
Fitted a a pair of motors with mid section, cav plate and tie bar on to one of the REDBIRDS------found a fantastic titanium mount for it--------will try for a progress piccie later in the day.

Good memory Jim--50 years ago!! I built that DR from junk parts in Bob H's shop--I think Ronnie was 16 years old??
Im still building stuff from junked parts Gene----!
Did take a few progress piccies but failed to download them on the new iPad, damned if I know what's going on.
Soldiered on with the motors, trying to get all six up to muster, made good progress, but we had a couple of friends for Sunday lunch and the kitchen goddess decreed I should be present. Kinda Buggerred up the afternoon .
As Butler once said "Tomorrow is another day" ( most useless bloody statement ever).
Tomorrow is my last day in the shop this week, Tuesday were off to France for a couple days break, would like to get most of the gear cases done, but that's looking a bit optimistic.
just talk amongst yourselves until I sort the piccie problem. ,
Jackie/Lars: What happened to your MB guys in Spain. Seems for $50 M /yr they could figure out not to run over each other.
Apparently not Johnno !
Dont do F1 any more--------fallen out with Ecclestone and Murdoch--------haven't got enough time left to waste watching overpaid wimps, whinge and wail over incompetence.
You coming with my bottle of Malt to Tavares in November Johnno ?
Will try and fix the Ipad/scream and fly problem today!
Today
My friend Dave and I were trying to fix the "No Piccies" problem.
learned how to get around it, but not how to cure it!!
In the end analysis it appears I know nothing-----will have to wait until next weekend and get one of the grandkids to sort the problem of posting piccies!
Managed to get two of the REDBIRDS all but finished------quite a noble effort although I do say so myself!
Gene and Ted should be well chuffed with the result!
Tuesday morning and rarin to go------Down the long road to Portsmouth he strode, to fight like a soldier for country and King------er, not quite like that------yes we are off to Portsmouth to catch the "Fast Cat" to Cherbourg, then on St. Malo-------but this time in the trusty Lexus.
Should be in Concale by 5pm.
Sorry I couldn't show you last weeks effort, but meeting up with grandson Simon on Saturday night, who is an Apple geek, so problem will be solved.
Just help yourselves to the tricks site-----keep it well watered and see what results come up !
Y'all have a nice day-----ya hear ?
Here's two of the boats I ran in 65 and 66.... I also was fortunate enough to race a 15' Powercat in 64 and 66 with twin 1000's and a factory Glastron 17 footer in the '66 Orange bowl.... My kneel down boats were from earlier years.....

-------- Gene and Rich, sorry to interrupt --------you have to put this neck of the French " bois" on your still to do lists. Better than Honfleur I promise you, a zillion seafood restaurants-------you can either walk the length of Cancale or explore the dozens of tiny bays and harbours.
Went for a tour round this morning and stopped at every turn off. Had a superb time -----went all the way to St. Malo, now trundling off down the road a piece to find a little "Moulles et Frites" cafe, froggie style.
Watched the fishing boats come in, unloading their catch------Mackerel. Squid, flatties, cod, Crabs and Lobsters-------folk queueing up to buy fresh fish, housewives with carrier bags and tourists with coolers.
Welcome break from "REDBIRD"
Only till Friday-------then it's nose back to the stone!
I remember the Glastron. Passed me a bunch of times in the 9 Hour. Were you withdrawn after Hank Bowman's accident?
