Hamilton is fantastic, probablty the best ever....Fangio, Schumacher, Senna, Gar Wood, Vettel...all secretly wish(ed) they had his talent.....who would think that a spoiled brat who won his first title because Vettel gave him a position in the final race of the season could turn into a deity. Pardon me while I go throw up.
I think the new ozzie is the class act of this year, just needs a faster car

Sorry Jackie...But I think there are some "team orders" afoot this year that have held Nico back.... Frankly you are right about the race issue, except I thnk you may have it "bass ackwards". Having Hamilton do well increases media and public support.... Bernie is no dope and Mercedes sales have crossed over into new market opportunities. I think Hamilton, Vettel, Ricciardo, Nico, Bottas, Alonso, and even Kimi have talent on par with each other. Senna would drive rings around all of them and Herr Schumacher in his prime as well. Today Nascar and F1 are somewhat like professional wrestling and have blurred the lines a bit between sports and sports entertainment.... The sheer complexity of Formula 1 has made it a clever combination of science fiction and super heros..... sort of Buck Rogers meets Ironman...In the end, we agree to disagree.....about the future"Sir" Lewis.

Agree with a lot of what you say Rich. Lewis and Jenson are the only two of the current crop of drivers who don't have millionaires for parents or blue chip company sponsors, both come from working class backgrounds and were pulled up by their shirt tails. Ability and true grit with a dad that drove them beyond the limit at all levels of the sport is the reason for their success.Quote:

Lewis has had five unexplained " management system failures" ? He was leading the race at the time in four of the cases, ( one was a start line issue). Nico has had two failures,
You missed out probably the greatest driver of all time in Jim Clarke. Duckworth always said he was worth two seconds a lap over the rest of the field.
Schumi proved he WAS the best but then cocked it all up by coming back when he was well past it, plus he hit Ferrari at their peak when he was on song.
Senna does not need me to mention him-------can't see anyone in the wings just yet.
