Today, Jillys daughter Catherine is hosting a birthday tea at her house just for me. As everyone is working it has to be on a Sunday. Little Lizzie will be my guest of honour ——— it’s a seafood themed tea, so it will be interesting. Just love scallops, shrimp, lobster and crab.
Had the butcher make me a massive pork pie, if there’s any leftovers I’ll send them out to “Hawkeye” in Michigan.
Nailed the giant crossword, Managed 90% Of It before we had to get out the thesaurus and dictionary.

I was ceremoniously presented with a “BRAMLEY COOKING APPLE” tree as a birthday present. It’s a well established one, ( about ten years old ) and should have apples on it this year.
Course, It’s what Jilly has always wanted and now seems like a good time to get me one——— you know what I mean.
Spent ten minutes putting a yellow coat on Odells “MONA LOU”——— will ask Caddy for his address, both of us are a bit long in the tooth for procrastinating!
While I was at it, I put a couple of coats on Reggie and Bennys quick boat, if I can remember to charge the battery on the CANON , see if I can take a phoggie or two !
Hope your having better weather than we are——— it’s pissed down all over Europe for over a week now with Paris being hit particularly hard———— river Seine rose by twenty feet and burst its banks flooding the Louvre and the Sacre Cour .

Im still humbled and a bit shell shocked by the day’s events.
Willabee has always been the main man on S&F, yes I do tend to throw him a few curve balls, mainly because he’s a supercilious, umbonated pedagogue, but with a vast knowledge of tunnel boat racers from every corner of the globe———- OMC——- Mercury——- Europe——— North America, he not only knew them—— he was friends with all .
SIROIS ( Stavros) ——- I knew his brother Bill, long before I knew Steve. His Lake X thread has kept S&F readers enthralled for years with over half a million hits and rising.
Fujimo——- do not have any idea who the hell he is or where he’s from, if he wants to hide behind a far eastern pseudo, then it’s his own damn business———- can’t imagine the terrible deed he must have done to want to remain “INCOGNITO “
Its great to be up there in such exalted company——— I’ll try and justify the position , and try not to get into too many head butting confrontations.
Trouble here is——- you and I know——- that’s just not going to happen!
Monday again, if it’s not Monday it’s Thursday——— Taking her who had the broken leg for the final check in at St Richards——- bet their glad to see the back of her, bear with a sore head doesn’t even come close.
Lots of my friends came by yesterday for the free tea—— was totally unexpected, thought there was just going to be the five of us, but you know how sneaky these ladies can be, pork pie was a great success and the carrot birthday cake with so many candles it caught fire was something you don’t forget in a hurry.
Tomorrow, Jilly and I are taking off in the Trusty Lexus and heading off for wherever it takes us——- quiet lunch together, maybe a country walk or a stroll along the beach if it’s not chucking down with rain. Don’t need any presents, long past mundane things like that——- nothing I need, I have everything a man could possibly want, so I’m just going to sit back and enjoy it for a while.
