Yes it did-----largely due to the stupidity of the UIM and the ready cash being handed out for "FAVOURS".
Ask anyone who ever took part in the Fonda series, which was the best racing ever? -----answer will always be the two litre Fonda series

Another hospital visit today---------three more visits and I get my own parking spot-------trusty Lexus drives itself to the two hospitals---Chichester and Bognor Regis! Which is a bloody good job, since I don't have a license any more. ( 3 months compulsory driving ban after multiple TIA's )------ just kidding Mrs Stirling Moss did the honours.
Todays slot was 14:00 hrs------thought I might get some more time in the shop this afternoon----wrong---felt like a dogs dinner after, so I had one of those thousand mile an hour tablets and played on the iPad for a while. Talked to Mark on FaceTime, he's busier than Father Christmas at Macy's on Christmas Eve! Looks like he's going to the OFF reunion.
On Tuesdays we always have Lizzie for the day----- she won't be three until February and is just so much fun to have around. Speaks fluent English and a spattering of French, very athletic and can easily outrun me. I kinda like Tuesdays!
Should make big inroads into the couple of concepts I have on the go at the minute, would like to get a few finished pieces to Stuart in time for off.
Sneaky preview on today's efforts! Attachment 389821Attachment 389823
Told you I was beavering away today.
No, the RC guy promised dozens of them, but in the end it all turned to worms, he crept back into oblivion and I'm still looking for props to stick on the concepts--------so if anyone out there has any kind of RC propellor-------I'll take them.
I've tried talking to people all over the world-------even offered to buy fifty at a time------nobody wants to know Phill.

The unloved and unwanted silver medal from Paris 1970. I hung it in my workshop, immediately after the race, yes, it's still there !it's been a constant reminder of the vagaries of power boat racing.
Only reason I never trashed it is-------damned if I can remember the reason !!!! 47 years ago this month------it's not even a good talking point any more.
That was the year the bear ate me-------sometimes sh-t happens.
Forgot to tell you about the weird experience I had on Monday last. Was brilliant sunshine with a clear blue sky when we walked into the hospital--------two hours later as I came out, I thought there was a total eclipse, dark as Newgates knocker-----strange orange sky, birds doing the weirdest things, wondered seriously if Trump and the Fat Far Eastern had finally got it on-------didn't clear up for a couple of hours. Took these piccies with the iphone-----not very good, I agree, I'm a crap photographer at the best of times.
Got another appointment with the Doc tomorrow-------he's got to be sick of the sight of me by now !
Had a good day in the shop-----done a couple of really Nice Brazilian Mahogany offshore rigs------these are for Mark to take down to Key West. One has a couple of those oversized, massive things they still have the audacity to call outboards----------??
You know it's a given fact, any one of those 4/500+ HP. "OUTBOARDS" weighs more than the old COSWORTH complete with its drive !
May have to cut short my trip to the car boot sale in the morning-------meeting the medical man at 9:15------ already been told not to be late.
If I get half a chance------and the old concepts are coming out "Half Tidy" I'll see if I can put in a couple of piccies tomorrow------promise they'll be a damn sight more interesting than Lassies "OMC'S Fact and Fiction " thread.------ Nighty night!
ive noticed that John------unfortunately the OFF meeting is made up of mainly Mercury guys, which is not how it was meant to be.
I have never had an axe to grind with any one of the OMC drivers, and I've known a lot of them, been friends with quite a few. I love winding people like Rotory John Sheldon and Lars Strom up just as tight as I can, it's just one of the things I do. Both of them have done extraordinary things at OMC and have to be admired for their efforts.
If ever we should be fortunate enough to have the likes of RonHill--Jimbo---Sanders-- Posey, or any other OMC driver attend just one of the old farts meetings--------then we will have achieved what the OFF fellowship is all about.
This was never a "Factory" thing-------it's OLD FRIENDS FOREVER------
Pruett was the classic example of this, he never gave a flying fart which side you were on, if he was your friend, it was for life, regardless of creed, colour or religion and he would thump anyone who thought different. He would have loved the OFF meetings, and dragged some of those OMC guys by their bloody heels to Stuart in November!

Thats a bit It of the Brazilian Mahogany I was telling you about-------rare as hens teeth these days------it's a bit like Ivory-----there's a world embargo on it!
Flowering in it is superb------would have been criminal to paint it------six coats of clear lacquer already and I still can't see my face in it yet------ will come one day!
Mount is one of a pair from a Lotus Elan manifolds that sported twin Webbers------- had a mad fit of inspiration when I thought that one up------it does just look the dogs cajones. It's one of the half dozen concepts I made for Mark and Craig's stand down at Key West------the week after the old farts week end!

Definitely advancing--------another few coats and I'll be somewhere near where it needs to be.
Been off sick today------must be something I ate-------spent three hours in bed and feeling sorry for myself-------only way is up!
Decided to get off boats and do something a little more creative--------don't know what-------but I'm stuck in a rut, I'm also open to suggestions. Just left the gate wide open.
Attachment 390288
You know what------that is a work of art-----but you gotta admit-------------it would have looked so much better IN BLACK.?
Apologies to Lassie Strom for pinching his phoggie!
