Daughter Sam goofing off with her phone trying to make me out as one of the "Dirty dozen".

Finally made it down to the keys-------weather superb----the setting is mind blowing ------- swimming with dolphins ------warm water pools------cold water pools, with or without screaming kids, meals on sticks with fries. Totally ridiculous spoiled rotten place. Tell you more later, clan are gathering for breakfast, eggs Benedict, Denver omelette , waffles, pancakes etc, all the healthy gear that they say is not good for you.
OK. This I can take, but only for days------a week would be over the top-----where else in the world can you drive down the road with an ocean on the left and a gulf on the right, no wonder less than twenty percent of Americans have .a passport-------why would you leave ?
This place is obscenely decadent-----over indulgence of everything-----food, booze, and very friendly females who I only managed to keep at bay after a supreme battle of mind over manner, ( and the fact my offspring and theirs too are lodged here) SEI LA VEI.
mark opened up The parcel containing his boat concept, think he liked it, he knew I tried hard with that one.
Giving Craig the "Cosworth " as a wedding present and Gary the V12 Jaguar------they just cluttered up the shed anyway.

Y'all ain't never gonna believe this------tricks old boat racers get up to, only managed 95 of the 100 lengths of the pool this afternoon. Getting the reputation of being the biggest liar in powerboat racing history, don't ever believe a word this old bastard utters.
Today is "Playday"-----grand kids have decided to borrow a few Jet skis and wet bikes, surf kites and the like------sounds like fun and aching limbs to me. At tha moment nothing hurts, I'd like to keep it that way, nothing worse than a wedding where grandpa escorts a bridesmaid down the aisle with his arm in a sling after goofing off on a wet bike. Think I may pass on that one.
Left arm is throbbing a tad after the round of golf with Sam and Clive last week," things ain't wot they used to be".
Another beautiful day forecast for the activities-----try to make the most of my time with the "Colonial" side of the family-------the American way of life is great, and I like it in small doses, Mark and Craig have made a life for themselves in Florida but it's not for me.
Sam and Clive have a house here, so do Gary and Louise-----I have many great friends in the USA, but at the end of the day I know exactly who I am and what I am and where I belong, that's the other side of the Atlantic in my little bit of heaven.
So, I shall make the most of my time here and get the best out of every minute, and look forward to my next visit. Time to party !
It's fun being down in the keys but steam powered Internet is frustrating, my old iPad has nearly wound up learning to swim on a couple of occasions.
Even my smart arsed grandkids have trouble trying to post------what chance do I have?
Last post I wrote at 6:00 am-----damned thing finally left at16:00 hrs after a lot of help from grandkids.
Been trolling around Duck Key all day sipping champagne and crisp chomping, just off to wedding rehearsal with big eats afterwards------tell you later if anything exciting happens.
Jackie---I practically grew up in the 'Keys'----before the 'WAR'---it was a paradise--

It had to be a magic place to grow up in Gene. Sunshine and warm water, fishing.!
Were there any native "Seminole" still left before the war-----Pruett used to tell me stories of pre war Florida-------not sure whether he was Florida Indian or not, he never knew fact from fiction himself.
Reggie sent Mark a piccie of the 1970 Havasu line up, the Bloody--Hooray sticker Willabee had made is quite clear.
See if I can post it in the next day or so.

Thats the one I was on about-----think I was parked next to Tommy Stickle, he has been my friend for nearly fifty years------Joe Fielder had a twin Glastron Molinari, blew it to bits on the right hand turn, wound up in the next bed to me in the hospital----can't remember if it was Needles or Flagstaff!
Was strapped onto a carrier on the outside of the helicopter and froze my arse off on the way to hospital------MASH was top of the TV ratings in 1970-----fully expected to be nursed by "Hotlips" and doctored by "Hawkeye"------Those were the days my friend, we thought would never end, I suppose they have to one day----but I'm not quite ready yet.!
