Even I could run a team with £80,000,000 in the Kitty Pilgrim!
Now we've gone from trad yachts to OSCAR P. Four legged leap alongs, it seems it's cash and technology that rules and for the first time ever GB has plenty of both.
Ben is acknowledged as being one of, if not the best sailor in the world today in all classes of the rag and stick world, even the Americans realised without Ben they would not have won nine races on the trot to clinch the Americas cup.
Of course he can do the skippers job, there's no one out there to touch him------in any country, plus, he EARNED the right to be there.
I'll cover any bet you care to make Pilgrim !
First day for the general public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, all roads around the village were gridlocked by eight am.
Moss's last car he raced in anger was a Porche, Bonhams managed to sell it this afternoon for just ----$2,500,000. Told you, money's gone mad !
Some sneaky, thieving conniving bastards burgled my daughter Boo's house while she was teaching the kids at school yesterday. Trashed the place, stole the TV, the cash from the birthday cards from one of my grandsons, Boo's wedding and engagement rings and made some people very unhappy, just hope to God I don't find out who did it, there would be dire consequences .
Managed three hours in the shop on the second Americas cup boat-----looking good------be next week before you get to see 'em.
Keep " nodding off" over the iPad ---time for shuteye, night folks, MYGGWY.J.
...Jackie, this post has absolutely nothing to do with boat racers that I could only wish to gain some knowledge from nor anything to do with the trick Rotary engines from the past that kicked Mercury in the teeth!
I see via your post that you spend you time out in the shop working various woods and seeing such thought you might appreciate a few pics I have to offer this early morning here from Texas.
I was taking my usual "get out of the house" roll about town and usual I hit a few garage sales here in town, It's usually slim pickings for the good stuff since around here there are folks sitting in driveways waiting at 7AM...which is usually way before I get up unless I am going fishing.
For some reason I hit one while on the way to the store this afternoon and came across a real find.
Lady was wanting to sell her stuff to move in with her Daughter as she was getting up in age and was a recent widow they told me.
....at any rate, came across this Pre 1930 Remington Model 24 rifle. On the barrel it says 22 LR or greased rounds, whatever that is! But I made a deal that I couldn't believe as I had to have her just for the way she looked with the Maple stock! Look at this! Took her to my gunsmith and he tells me she has never been fired. I plan on keeping her that way.
Never had a "Virgin" rifle in the guncase before that's for sure!!

Another day in paradise ! ( there goes another good name for a song ) suns up early ,cloudless blue sky and temperatures set to be in the high seventies for the next week.
So it's Sod's law the pools contaminated and turned green as friggin grass, first time I ever lost control of a pool but not to worry, I'll nail the problem today!
Never thought I could get excited by a sailboat , I'm sorry I never learned the fine art of sailing, but if I had to do it all over again, boating with a motor is still the path I would choose !
Rightly or wrongly I had the notion that sailing was for knobheads, wealthy folk, "Them", the jolly hockey stick brigade. This stems from the first encounter with a wayfarer dinghy off shoreham beach when a totally out of control person was yelling at me " Give way to sail don'tcha know"
took a long time to tolerate the sailing fraternity, there's room for everyone, it's just that nobody ever told them, either that or they just didn't listen!
Anyway, went to sleep with lots of ideas on four legged sail boat concepts, tell me what you think after you see them. It's fun making them, just hope some of the rag and stick brigade have a sense of humour.
Choppers and planes filling the skies already, will try and get a piccy for you of the Spitfire and the red arrows. Have a great day and a nice weekend! j.
. Man, that has EVERYTHING to do with Tricks that old racers get up to!
That is a most beautiful piece of kit I have seen in a long time. It has the stripes of a tiger. I have never seen such a beautiful piece of wood, it would fit in anywhere, I hope to one day find something similar and get to play.
Congratulations on a most wonderful find.
Thanks Jackie! When I saw that wood it popped so loud I knew I couldn't pass it up.

Been one one of those days! I was having a nice quiet weekend with an occasional forage into the garden, that was before the pool turned a nasty shade of green!
Decided to take drastic action, so I drained the bugger and started out afresh, all clean chlorine free water, had that feeling of Deja-Vu when I hit the liner with the Karcher, now all I have to do is wait a couple of days.
We got a heat wave all next week, so it should be up to usable by Wednesday.
Thought I might give you a peek at the Oscar P. Leap along now it's gotten it's legs on.
Did cut out and shape up the pair of masts, just let the spokeshave run 'till we had some semblance of a mast (or two).!
it had to be substantial, as the vanes, (as opposed to sails) are weighty old pieces of kit.
Next week before you get to see those.
Clever bit is going to be the way these two are mounted.

Couple more shots of the "THANGS" , early days, will look much better with the masts, rigging and sails (vanes).
More tomorrow -----tonight I'm Bolloxed! Sleep tight folks, MYGGWY.J.

First piccy is is the sculpture outside Goodwood House yesterday!
Second is a shot of the "Red Arrows" over my house round about noon.
Today is the final day of the F O S.
Good day to stay home and read the Sunday comics!
Still marvelling at that beautiful stock on Galvestons Remington, was that ever a great find!
Sad news indeed , condolences to Rotory John after the demise of the Mazda Le Mans Rotory. It apparently lost an argument with a hay bale on the hill climb8 yesterday.

Finished the mast-----got some work to do on the Sails/Vanes, need a few curves and a bit of architecture before it looks the Biz-----once it's gotten the "Pistourus Pins" it should begin to come together. Mount is a little high, but I can cut it down to size once the legs are fitted !
Been a hive of activity in the sky today, endless stream of fixed wing and rotors, some really fancy pieces of kit, Eurocoptors, think I saw the Honda jet, Spitfire and Eurofighters, Red Arrows display Team etc. All quiet now, it's over for another year.
Back in the shop in the morning, everything in its place and a place for everything, should finish the two sailboats close of play Wednesday, don't have anything planned as a future or even the next project. Fairly certain something will turn up that lights the candle!
Holy crap!!! Makes even me want to go sailing. - Seeroy
will we see it sailing in your pool Jackie?
C'mon Stavros, your just trying to humour me, nothing's that good !
On the good front, how you feeling these days? Iris still doing the biz ?
First time in a month, I'm back to normal, it's a great feeling, no aches or pains, sickness or squits, trying to keep it that way for Tavares!
Damn fool question Pilgrim----"ITS A CONCEPT" for crying out loud, they don't DO anything 'cept send a message.
Start of the predicted heat wave, pools full again, I'm feeling on top of the world, workshops open and Jill's cooking my breakfast, what more can a man ask for.
Have a great week one and all.
"NEVER LOSE SIGHT OF THE OBJECTIVE" !!!
