Had a whole day in the shop yesterday, not a single interruption . Did allow me to make inroads into CCBB—- radiator grill—dashboard instrumentation—— another coat of beeswax on the wooden body— leather interior——number plate and start handle.
Getting there slowly . Aiming for the end of the week. Best laid plans of mice and men and all that .
biggest job left is the exhaust system— seen four different versions up to now . Think i have „“artists licence“ on that one , so it wont be too complicated or difficult .
Well satisfied with my own bloody efforts —OBE —-taken five weeks from start to finish .
BOUGHT AND SOLD a fair amount of kit [keeps the wolf from the door ]. Keeps the little grey cells ticking and the arthritis at bay. I enjoy what i do . Looking on the bright side —-Dont need specs [glasses] or a walking stick . But neither do i run anywhere .
Down side is —- I do have a hearing aid—-false teeth [so no toothache] - mild backache [i dont lift anything anymore [other than an empty paper bag] .
stopped playing football—cricket—-tag with the kids —- and driving at 100mph [ had to, i have been nabbed twice and been to two „“DRIVER AWARENESS SESSIONS“.
Still no points on the driving licence —— hate to give the insurance companies any excuse to hike the premium. It’s been rising rapidly since i was 80, despite having no accidents .
...big thing nowadays are dental implants. big dollars "per" tooth. titanium screw stud, then thread the new false tooth to that stud. your regular drill & fill only dentist, that everyone goes to forever, now condems perfectly good teeth that simply have a filling or crown on them, and says you have to have that tooth "pulled", so they can get their referral fee($) from the implant surgeon "they" recommend you to. its a racket...
