Probably a part of the decision. I think the 300R (even for Nordic) is a 9 month back log. 400 is heavy.

There is a picture of Thomas Weigle standing on the deck of the new Tuff 20. At least the deck is not a potato chip

Back to the weight of the 20 Tuff. I would not stand on the deck of my SS2000 and it probably weighs around 800 lb. My brothers new to him GS has some deck stress cracks, presumably from someone walking on it. Other then advertising, why would a boat manufacturer buy a scale to weigh their boats? The GPS is a better advertisement then the scale.

The "wings" in the back really keep that boat nice and level sitting still and going slow.
Mine is light, but its stiff as can be when walking on the bow and such, I have aired it out plenty of times in Lake Michigan and over boat wakes too.

If the transom were flat it would still sit level and you'd have a longer running surface. Not bashing Tuff but if the boat OAL is 20' then the CL running surface is what, 18'?

The Tuff 20 is actually 21’10” overall, beam 6’10”

The wings are 'flat' with the bottom of the boat so unless its riding on the pad, the wings are wet, which is running surface to me.

Its all good, I was only posing the question. So at 21'10" the CL is probably 20.

For sure it is a bad ass boat.

    It's bigger than a 20 foot Allison.

The Grand Sport is a little wider, and depending on how you're measuring, a little shorter. GS usually weighs 950 Lbs. The Tuff looks cool.

But wait, this is the SOB page. Are these allowed? haha

A 21' Allison bass boat with a 300R is probably a 105 mph ride. Sure the 300R is likely more than 20 HP stronger than a 280. But a 21 foot Allison bass boat is 1250-1350 lb with a lot worse aero than a Tuff.

If it were my lottery win I would spec light with a ballast tank
I think this is the demo one, built light, with a hot 280 for a big number. They are aiming for the 150-225 four stroke motors on new builds. Should be great with any of those. I think people would be surprised by the V6 with a coned case on the right boat. Lots of torque and lighter with a lower CG than the V8.

The Tuff is narrower and might be lighter than a GS. This 20 Tuff demo might compare more to a 2000SS Allison. I like the narrow beam of the Tuff, dynamically it's often better for aero etc.

A 21' Allison is significantly wider and heavier.
