1974 Baja 14ss. what motor?!!!
Bougt a bare hull on a trailer for $300. Think it will be a fun project. Good hull an transom. What motor u all thinking? Thanks

Our 14' has a 90 on it. Runs up to 55 easy using very little gas.
A 150 might be a bit heavy, and require a great deal more seat time to air it.

Merc 850xs is period correct and a great engine. OMC 75 short would also be good.

I'd have someone check out the core and transom before trying to go fast. It's a very old boat.

over hauling transom as we speak. Puttin knees in an replacing the one cute 1x3 stringer. Found a 115 black max for 300 bones an also found a 4 wins 14 foot 115hp jet, whole boat for 500. I just don't think that's enough. an a lot of work to make it work. more input would be great!!! THANKS

I would try a relatively new Yahaha 90. Good power, not too heavy for a small boat, and should be reliable.
