David had to wait to read this only so much progressive liberal bat**** crazy in one day!!

First enforce the damn laws all of them, not tie law enforcements hands keeping them from enforcing the laws!??..council tells them call 911 cops says we can't do are job because they've tied our hands..
    How many are mentally ill?
If they are mentally ill they should be institutionalized!!
They spend enough money on each of them!!
If they are bat**** crazy smoking crack...they shouldn't be left to cause a menace to society..
So their plan was to tax large businesses another!!
$275 per employee to help combat the homeless problem... WTF how about you get someone with a brain in there and actually tackle the problem..
You are pissing away money already and you want more to fix a problem that you can't even slow down let alone fix

California’s Newsom signs bill allowing citizens to refuse to help a police officer

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, on Tuesday signed a bill that no longer requires any "able-bodied person 18 years of age or older" in the state to help an officer who requests assistance during an arrest.

That is a good thing, in my opinion. A person should not be allowed to be ordered to help an officer while making an arrest. The potential for exposure to disease or injury is too great and then what? They are not covered by workman's comp and then they do what? Sue the city? The person being arrested? And the average person does not have the proper training to be effective and potentially puts the officer at risk.

Personally I would always help. But I realize that there are some people that are just better off to keep moving along.

If the cop is struggling to subdue a criminal and the criminal possibly has an advantage, I will jump in and help!!! Other wise I am saying out of the way!

A Democrat siding with a criminal (one of their own) is no surprise. Especially a Cali liberal Democrat!

Say one day you in the course of minding your own business happen upon a man who is on top of a uniformed officer. Clearly having the advantage over the officer and it looks he is trying to restrain him with force. What do you do?

And when it turns out that the man in plain clothes was actually a plain clothes officer struggling to restrain an im-poster in a fake uniform?
Take it up a notch. This happened in an anti 2A city, Chicago. You interfered in a police investigation, maybe with a firearm (I am always armed) how does that work out for you, or I? Just some scenarios presented to me at a recent training session.

Tricky questions, just intended to make one think. We live in interesting times. One can go from "looking to help an officer" to "just shot one in the back" way too quickly.

Is not my argument. Was from a retired law enforcement officer that was teaching a concealed carry class. Not sure if story was true, or just told to make one think. Regular everyday Joe's and Paul's do not have blanket immunity. You and I want to help, and will help. At the same time we have to watch our 6.

My training says kick the one on top in the head or nuts and hold both at gunpoint till backup arrives.

Before I took the course, my reaction was to shoot the plain clothes that was on top. Now though, yeah, kind of what you say.
Look at the way sworn law enforcement are run through the ringer for doing the right thing, just doing their job.
Crazy times we live in. Glad I am not a spring chicken. Stuff is a gonna get interesting.

We had a similar scenario happen here. Bad guy over came an older deputy on the side of the road. Was beating the crap out of him. CC holder pulled up and the guy pulled the deputy's gun and made the mistake of pointing it his way. 3 accurate rounds later it was all over. With the leo's testimony he was cleared of any wrong doing. Was kind of a local hero, which he was imo. It takes guts to get in the middle of deep stuff like that. Split second decision.....
