How to hook up SIMRAD GO5 XSE to VesselView
Hey guys, so I recently picked up my new to me velocity and it came with a SIMRAD GO5 XSE and a Mercury Smartcraft SC1000 Monitor kit in place and I was wondering what exactly I'd need to make the SIMRAD display everything digitally on it's screen. I am aware that there is the Mercury Vesselview Link that can be purchased to make it work, but, seeing as I have the SC1000, would I need the Vesselview and a mercury smartcraft junction box to bridge the two together since the vessel view is already hooked up to the motor?
To simplify, I'm referring to: Motor>Smartcraft SC1000>junctionbox>VesselView Link>SIMRAD GO5 XSE
Any knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated. The boat came with a bunch of non-functioning gauges so I plan to get rid of them rather than spend the money replacing them and put that money towards the purchase of the VesselView Link.

I think you have a G07. Enjoy the boat! 😆

I'm not sure if it will talk to vessel view. Does vessel view have a nema 2000 output?
Simrad gets it engine managment information through nema 2000 you will need a nema backbone and the engine hook up kit if vessel view can't output via nema 2k and maybe even if it does you will.

So I found this statement off another forum... so seems that I may infact be able to just link up with the smart craft cable and Im good to go. This is just in case someone may have the same question down the line and needs answers. I will report back on how I got everything to work finally.
If you already have smartcraft you can plug the male to male smart craft cable into the junction box and you are good to go. If you don't have smartcraft, you need to add the Smartcraft Harness which runs from the outboard to the dash area. That part# is: 84-879982T20
