    best hydraulic Steering?

What is the best hydraulic steering brand for installation on a 280 Merc on a 20 foot hull. Dual steering works well now at most speeds with the trim in the right spot... just thinking hydraulic probably make it a little easier and minimize some chine walk.

Sea Star Pro is the standard. Uflex makes a similar system that some have had good luck with (ultra steer maybe?). Some of us still prefer the feedback of cables...

Promarine has a good kit for up to 300hp for almost half the price as sea star pro. Havent heard alot feed back tho. As Nitro said , I got my cables adjusted on mine finally and works very good ,if u can keep the wheel torque down

the Uflex is called Silver Steer system. Seastar you can find used and get it for 500-700 is a good guess for everything (get a brand new tiller bolt!).

Yes I agree , but u gotta think also ,if u only changed to hydraulic and it got easy but all that stress is still on the 1 bolt holding it all together , u can get rid of most of the torque with prop and setup ,

Speaking of hydraulic steering in general I've had a bunch of twin engine offshore boats and never (yet) had a problem with SeaStar. Proper installation is key.

100% correct but any side ram/wing plate combination is good. The front mount systems are second rate in comparison.

electric steering technology all done just need someone to make the right parts for the boating application
Cant believe Merc Brp havent already done it integrated into the mid.
    Boat builders will love it.
Plug and play like throttle and shift
