Should have FF stamped behind the timing arm. Right where the two halves meet each other.
Before the FF it was EE (200).

I think 94 up til oring came out. The promax 200 is made from ff block ,just no paint on pm 200 the diffrence in the 200 and 225 is front half and ecu and 225 has larger exhaust dumps at bottom of block. But all sleeve porting is same between ff and 225pm and has same (big) exhaust chest. The EE blocks have smaller porting and smaller exhaust chest but they make great torque. Hope it helps

I have a FF block and got a spare EE block. Havent been able to try the EE out yet.
Realy wonder how it will perform compared to the FF. Both are stock and carburated.

I have 2, a 98 and a 96 EFI FF block 200's. Very strong runners. The best non hipo engine there is in the 2.5 series. Push my v-king into the 80's. They make about 220 ponies easy.
83 V-King, 96 Mariner, 200 hp ff block 2.5 w/a 28p choppa

mine is a mildish build ff and I got a pretty heavy bass boat and with a 28 I can hit 80 or 82. Not screamin fast but runs good and I beat it to death but stay on the maintenance. Great motor. I have a modified promax im in process building but the port work little more extensive and will be goin on alot lighter boat
