warlock 22 sxt set up questions
early 90s sxt cat. 3.0 250efi offshore. Adjustable tabs, jack plate. Motor is a 98 250efi. I've spoken with Simon on a couple of mods there and Carson about reeds.
Looking for thoughts and theory on set up or experience with this hull. It breaks water at dash regardless of the trim or height and turns a 23 three blade 5400. Can't seem to get it out of the water. Uphill, down hill etc. Only way to get it to pack air is to head into a monsoon head wind.
Hole shot sucks, it will blow out and you have to feather it to get on plane. Has a ski pole which it funny cause you'd drown whoever was back there on a rope.
I like how solid the hull is, built like a brick **** house.
What should the tabs be set relative to the tunnels? I am looking for a PS height even or slightly above the bottom of the center pod?
Bow lift needed? Stern lift needed? What do they like?
Pic are before a bunch of clean up etc.

if you really want to know the reason for front plowing these were designed for twins, like weight on the rear and are a real solid boat and can handle rough water easily

Definitely heavy for a single, totally agree. Have 8 inches of set back. Could certainly mill new plates with greater setback and increase the arm and move the fulcrum further toward the bow. Sounds like a prop with more cup to help the front may also be in order. Definitely not gonna be fast but would like to get it into the wind to ride smooth and decrease work load on the motor.
The tabs should be negative or positive to the keel? Am I using those to help the boat take a set? Or use to push the nose over? Are those in the water when on plane?
Thanks in advance

Tabs will push nose down warlocks run somewhat flat even with twins and are real stable at high speed. With a single motor things just don't work well the balance is off kilter. Needs weight And horsepower in the rear

Picked up another 5" of set back. Working on some more HP from the motor. This motor had the oil system removed, should I be looking to add it back on or continue to mix fuel?

With the additional set back, should I think about making longer tabs for the tunnels?

Looking for some help on the plates. Currently, they are 2* up relative to the keel.
What is the rule of thumb for these.
Found the throttle was only 65% opening. Corrected that, swapped plugs, had to replace high pressure pump, clean entire fuel system including injectors. Put new reeds in while I had it apart.
Like to get the set up correct and am looking for insight.
Thanks
