Yeah, good price if in good condition, and on top of that hard to find a nice one.

Small propshaft and straight skeg...I'm surprised it sold that quick but good for you! It does look clean.

It is the race shaft, heavy duty larger bearing carrier , with hardened steel shaft not the weak stainless shaft.

Its still the small shaft. 15 spline not 19 spline. Most people running straight skegs are on twin outboard boats and they want the fat shaft. Not that it matters, obviously someone wanted it. Easy enough to swap the shafts though, a fat shaft will go right in there with no other changes.

It's not a straight skeg- look at the middle pic- clearly a factory "swept skeg" aka right hand toque tab

Straight skegs are found mostly on left hand gear cases and not everyone wants to re- hub all of their props to fit a "fat shaft" gear case if they have all standard shaft hubs in their props

Damn! It is. I shoulda bought it then!
Hard to see that tab. Its a swept skeg that someone cut the trailing edge of the skeg off straight like a straight skeg. Illusion of a straight but really it does have a built-in tab!

They all look like that, "small" leading edge graduating into the swept skeg- I have three of them and they all look exactly the same....

I'm not talking about width of the skeg and torque tab, I'm talking about the overall length of the skeg leading edge to trailing edge.

Based on the condition of the housing and the fact no more are being made, it’s worth what a willing buyer will agree to pay a willing seller. By selling so quickly, it appears to have been worth closer to 4K.
