Opinions on recent high profile court verdicts

Well guys what's your thought on the recent verdicts?
Personally, I think the jury did a good job on both cases.

In my opinion, our system works as intended in most cases.

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

Brunswick is right down the road from me.Im old enough to remember the days when this would have never gone to trial.A black man would simply disappear one afternoon. Then there were the days of an almost all white jury would not convict on cases similar to this because of whatever.I think the jury did it's job and justice was served. There is several people around here that will disagree. That's Ok. I get that . I remember the old days and the way things were. And still are to a degree, but we are making progress in the right direction.

I have been following the Elizabeth Holmes / Theranos trial. My view is that as the CEO she should have known the product did not work as claimed.

The Fed printing money for QE has to go somewhere which is speculation and asset bubbles
Has been a gift to Amazon, Tesla, etc
USA has a huge amount of companies that make no money but the founder gets rich

The guys who graduate at the top of the class, get invited to join the companies where the big money is accumulated. And the government regulators are recruited into a lower pay scale. Therefore, the dealers (economic strategies & models) versus the regulators (trying to stay on top of the action) will continue on and on.

We just hope (and vote accordingly) that it does not trickle-down negatively on us, the middle class.

I dont think comparing your system to the 3rd world is doing it any favours.
Is there is any country on the planet that has copied the US criminal system?

I did not find any website that lists the US as the most diverse nation.

QE asset bubble? Stock market is of course exhibit A. My wife and I retired this year and our financial plan assumes a crash

Our system is designed to work great when people are honest. No system can work when the people in charge corrupt it.

One yes, the other not so much. Both had one thing in common... The person tried to disarm another by grabbing the barrel of the gun. This was not a "turkey shoot".

If you were trying to subdue someone, and they tried to grab or grabbed the barrel of your weapon, what would you have done?

I was followed around by 4 thugs once. I backed out of into the street and they were hauling ass... And ran up and almost hit me. We went round and round the town... this was before cell phones... or that I could afford anyway....

I had a 9MM pistol with two mags full of HPs! I finally pulled up into a drive through fast food joint... And they finally left.

I caught and subdued some thieves that were stealing from me. One of them... He was huge, said "You ain't gonna shoot me!" I had pulled my 45 out and laid it on the hood of my truck. I said, "Give me a reason!" Difference was this time I had a cell, and the deputy sheriffs were there in 15 minutes! CUFFED AND STUFFED!
